I know three off the top of my head who turned to Toast because we were using it, only to realize how awful the system is. Below are the reasons why Toast is a waste of money.

The UI is pretty intuitive and the reporting is very solid.

Overall, the company that I helped get started are very pleased with their purchase.

No way to email a receipt to a guest until AFTER they have paid and the transaction is over...a big problem for CATERING needing preapproval.

Most people seeing the transactions on their account called wondering why they were being charged others just disputed the charges.

Very difficult to reconcile with transactions when doing bookkeeping. Their customer service is the worst.

Over charged for 2.5 years and will not refund. Have to get an attorney.

Was easy to get, sales staff was good and supported what they could after sale.

It was a nightmare and they took no responsibility. I needed to write a letter to a VP or someone and got a nominal compensation for the damage that was done to my brand.

Very unprofessional and ridiculous business. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

It's very sad to say that they say whatever they need to keep you "quiet" and don't follow through with their promised.

None of the support staff know the system at all. The system claims your clients can book online but its a LIE there's no link or anything available for clients to access the booking.
