We went "all-in" on Touchbistro as our POS system for both of our Coffee shops. However, with the loss of many customers and countless frustrating hours on the phone with tech support, we were forced to abandon Touchbistro, after two weeks of use, to have any chance at succeeding. We invested ~$8k for licensing, plus training, plus installation, all for a system that proved to be worthless. Many unnecessary labor hours we will never get back.
The unrealized dream of a competent POS system.
- Frequent Error Codes - Orders "lost"- not printed to kitchen, not visible on KDS - Frequent proprietary router crash - Mandatory onsite "server" (Mac mini) - Slow customer service team - Touchbistro's inability to deliver on the dream they created - The amount of labor, money, loss of customers my business suffered because of this defective POS system

A great POS system. Highly recommend.
The program was very easy to set up and get established in our restaurant. Employees found it very easy to learn. We used the program with iPad at the table and created a great guest experience. Great for real time reporting and inventory control.
Like all POS and inventory systems, there is a bit of data entry and the beginning of setting up the program.

Their advertisement that says no1 pos in the market.
Software itself. It has lot of issues and if you try to call customer service they don’t really care to resolve the issue. You will receive 10 calls a day until you choose this as your pos after if you have issue you have to call them 1000 times to resolve.

When I first saw TouchBistro POS sponsoring restaurants on a Gordon Ramsey television show, I thought if he recommended it maybe we needed it as well. I am not at all disappointed by this decision I have made. Traditional tickets are out the door now thanks to this lovely system. You've made our business run smoother, which means more happy customers.
The TouchBistro POS system is a very easy to use. I don't find myself to be the best at POS systems, but the setup process was basically idiot-proof. Getting everything to work took way less time than I anticipated. Also, I have yet to see this POS system crash, even during busy hours.
Sometimes there can be a little lag when putting in certain orders. It seems like the POS system is sometimes just trying to play catch up with itself. We have noticed that moving from page to page oftentimes will slow it down. We have learned to not click as quickly now though.

I wouldn't recommend this group, since their overall customer service has been nothing short of the worst I've seen in the industry. I've worked with Square, Toast and this group.
We had a great, helpful sales contact. Unfortunately, once we were turned over to their overall automated system for deployment of the software, we couldn't continue to work with them. At one point, they canceled our account without authorization.
We signed an agreement that would allow us a refund of more than $2,000 if we didn't want to continue using Touch Bistro. I've been trying to contact them for months for a refund, and have been ignored by their sales contact and their customer service line. We are having to hire a lawyer just to get our refund (even though the contract specifies we could get refunded.)

It's terrible and I would urge any new brewery or restaurant to go in another direction because as soon as you get the product they don't care.
Nothing, everything about the product didn't work the way we were told and we had lines out the door.
Everything. The hardware and software didn't function like we were told it would and we had to switch to Toast in less than 2 weeks and TouchBistro wouldn't take the equipment back.

Cloud reporting and great customer service! I like the ability to keep all reporting in the POS including staff time sheets and other information. I think the reports are great and easy to use, even online as an app on my cell phone to easily manage the day's activities. Setup is easy and upgrades are seamless. We installed a second POS system for overflow it is a great benefit.
I would like to access the full POS system remotely, not just the cloud.

I would definitely recommend TouchBistro to anyone who is looking for a POS system.
I like the overall system, but what really stood out for me was the customer service and how helpful they were throughout the entire process.
I have not noticed any downside. Everything was smooth. If I could pick one very small thing, it would be great to have a support team locally to be able to come into site but with the customer service team being reachable and the process being simple, I don’t think it’s an issue.

I first started using it at a restaurant during 2019. I was so impressed by this product that I started using it at my current restaurant too. Few problems here and there but this time it has been 7 days and they haven't been able to fix my issue.
Using iPad to take orders is the only good thing, very fast compared to other POS providers.
Where do I begin. Customer service was the best until 2019. Now it is similar to Toasts. It is day 7 of us not being able to print tickets in the kitchen, every time/ every day I call them they have this answer ready. "Our Product Development team is working on your case, we will get back to you as soon as we hear back from them"

I compared 10+ tablet POS systems before purchasing TouchBistro. It is very user friendly, affordable and easy to customize.
My least favorite thing is the way it handles credit card voids. Instead of being able to void a charge, you have to create a new negative ticket and run the card again. It is clunky and not at all intuitive.

Authorized Touch bistro Dealer from SWFl was a total fraud and he took $1800 from and did no service at all we wasted more than 2 weeks for them to installl the softare

I've been using Touch Bistro since 2013 and it has only got better over the years. They are a very dynamic company with frequent updates which serve to keep your system always performing better with greater functionality and better reporting. Every update is like a little present in which you can unpack more and more features! Their support network has never failed us in our dire times of need when your mac mini crashes 30 minutes before service. This to me is one of the most important functions of a POS provider and Touch Bistro has always been easily reachable and more than happy to get us back up and running.
price, ease of use and support system in place
lacks some of the functionality of the big POS systems but frankly independent businesses do not need all that horsepower

Great app and capabilities, but iOS updates were a huge issue that lead us to find a different POS option.
iOS based so it's easy to learn and use. Cloud based so I'm able to see sales live without any delay. iPhone app is simple to navigate.
Even though it was iOS based, there wasn't an iPhone app that would allow you to ring in orders and I couldn't find a heavy duty holder that would also have enough room for the dymo card reader. The last few iOS updates really messed with the software - using sign on screen would close out the app, wifi kept disconnecting, etc.

If you are an IT wizard and do not require much training this may be the system for you. My fear is that when something does go wrong when I go live that getting a hold of customer service will be impossible.
The system seems much more user friendly than your typical cumbersome POS systems like Aloha or Micros if you can get it setup.
Customer service is absolutely the worst. They require a 3 week lead time for all training and install appointments, I am building a restaurant from ground up and it is very difficult to know 3 weeks out where construction will be. The only department that responds promptly is sales, no other department puts any priority on follow ups. I asked to speak to someone in executive management and was told they are unavailable. So I reached out to the CEO Alex Barrotti through LinkedIn (seems this is the only way to contact anyone in executive management) and I received some condescending reply about how customer service works comparing install and training appointments to taking reservations for my restaurant. Clearly the poor customer service culture comes from the top.

extremely straight forward and easy to use, visually pleasing ,intuitive, can have someone who's never used a POS to use it in minutes

I highly recommend this POS, I have location and I’m currently working on opening a second one and I already have my system ready.
It’s so easy to set up and use! As long as you are familiar with apple products you won’t have any problem understanding the POS
I didn’t like that I can’t make changes while the restaurant is opens because it will Slow down the system.

Huge fan of this POS because of the iPad accessibility. It's terrific to use, and they also have a great free trial. That really helped.
No complaints here. In no time at all, everyone had familiarized themselves with the system, and we are very pleased with it.
