Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

SimpleMDM overview
What is SimpleMDM?
If you're a Mac admin or IT administrator responsible for keeping Apple devices enrolled, configured, and up to date — whether that's 50 devices at a single site or several thousand across multiple client organizations — SimpleMDM was built for that job.
It's been a reliable tool for IT teams in education, retail, healthcare, enterprise, and MSP environments that need Apple MDM without the complexity or cost of platforms that bundle in features most teams don't use.
Setup is fast. SimpleMDM integrates with Apple Business Manager so new devices ship directly to end users already configured — no imaging, no hands-on provisioning. For mixed environments or BYOD programs, it also supports Apple Configurator, link-based enrollment via email or QR code, and User Enrollment with APFS-based separation of company and personal data.
Once devices are enrolled, Dynamic Groups handle the organization automatically. You define the criteria — OS version, device model, group membership, custom attributes — and devices sort themselves in real time. Configuration profiles, scripts, and remote MDM commands apply to those groups, so changes to a policy or a software deployment reach the right devices without manual targeting.
For macOS software management, SimpleMDM includes a hosted Munki integration that handles the full deployment workflow — AutoPkg, NoPkg, and a self-serve Managed Software Center for end users — without requiring you to run your own Munki infrastructure. The RESTful API connects SimpleMDM to the rest of your stack, and scripts can be scheduled or triggered on demand.
What makes SimpleMDM different from alternatives like Kandji or Mosyle is its native Apple MDM architecture — no proprietary agent — combined with straightforward per-device pricing and API access included at the base price. There's no device minimum, no add-on tiers for core functionality, and no chatbot-first support.
Support is US-based technical staff who know Apple MDM, available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST, with an average response time of 30 minutes or less. SimpleMDM is part of PDQ's product portfolio, which also includes PDQ Connect for cloud-native Windows management and PDQ Deploy & Inventory for on-prem Windows environments.
Pricing: $2.50 per device per month, no minimum. Monthly and annual billing available. 30-day free trial, no credit card required.
