What is Reportex?
Reportex is a cloud-based audio transcription and editing solution from Sony which allows users to automatically transcribe audio from multiple file formats, edit and correct transcriptions, download edited files, create and share video clips of transcribed audio, and more.
Reportex supports a range of audio and video file formats, including MP3, MPA, WAV, OGG, AAC, MP4, and MPEG. Users can drag-and-drop their files to upload, and audio is transcribed automatically. The audio waveform and transcribed text are displayed alongside one another. If text is highlighted, the corresponding section of the waveform is also highlighted, and any deletions, copy-pastes, and edits are automatically reflected in both the transcription and the waveform.
With Reportex, users can correct any errors or misheard words in the transcription without affecting the audio file. Once editing is completed, users can download their edited audio, transcription, or transcription with timestamps. Reportex also offers tools for creating 30-second video clips from audio, with users able to select which section of the transcription to use. The transcription text is displayed over the audio waveform as the selected audio plays, providing an accessible video for use on social media.
