Having to do it one by one is time consuming and also makes auditing the members in certain groups very difficult.

Sorry but I find it very difficult to say anything I don't like about this software. If I was going to improve one thing it would the analytics tool UX.

I consider myself pretty decent with technology and software and know where to look to find answers, but there are others that will struggle with understanding how and where to find answers.
