BeforeMay overview
What is BeforeMay?
BeforeMay is AI workpaper software for Australian accounting and tax practices. It takes the documents a client sends (bank statements, payment summaries, invoices, rental and share statements, prior returns) and returns a review-ready Excel workpaper. Each figure sits on its schedule, mapped to its ATO item, with a link back to the page of the document it came from.
The reviewer stays in charge. Anything the evidence does not settle is raised as a review point instead of being guessed, and missing documents go on a chase list the client can see in the portal or phone app. An assistant inside the workbook can post adjustments, reclassify expenses and close review points on request.
Individual and sole-trader returns are live; company, trust and partnership returns are in beta by invitation. BeforeMay does not lodge and gives no tax advice: a registered tax agent at the practice reviews and signs. Client documents are stored in Australia, and tax file, Medicare and licence numbers are removed before any AI processing.
