Chairkick overview

What is Chairkick?

Chairkick is asynchronous video collaboration software for teams that would rather send a five-minute recording than sit through a thirty-minute meeting. It records screen and camera directly in the browser using standard web APIs — no desktop app or install required, with a Chrome extension for one-click access — and turns every recording into an instantly shareable link. Viewers just open the link and watch: no account, no download, no seat license.

That last point is Chairkick's core difference: pricing is per recorder, never per viewer. Most of a team only watches recordings, so only the people who record need a paid seat ($15 per user per month, billed monthly, with a free tier for individuals). Viewers are always free, in any number.

Every recording is processed automatically after upload: AI-generated summaries, titles, and chapter highlights help viewers decide what to watch; a synchronized, searchable transcript makes recordings skimmable; and timestamped comments let discussions happen right next to the moment in the video they refer to. Recordings live in a searchable library with folder support, and share links unfurl cleanly in Slack, Notion, Gmail, and Jira.

Teams switching from Loom can import their entire existing library in two clicks, keeping their video history intact. Chairkick records in up to 4K, supports recordings up to two hours on the Pro plan, and offers adjustable playback speed for viewers. Share links are unlisted by default, and sharing can be toggled off per recording; recordings are soft-archived rather than destructively deleted.

Typical workflows include product demos and walkthroughs, bug reports, code reviews, onboarding and training clips, sales follow-ups, and async status updates for distributed teams. Chairkick fits small and mid-sized teams — product managers, engineers, designers, customer success, sales, and founders — and EU-based companies that prefer European data handling.

Support is provided via email help desk, with documentation and video guides available.
