Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

ClassSwap overview
What is ClassSwap?
ClassSwap is a web platform built for college students to coordinate class section swaps with classmates at their own school. Instead of relying on informal Facebook groups, group chats, or campus bulletin boards, students get a dedicated space designed specifically for finding and coordinating schedule changes.
Flexible listing types
Students can post what they need in the format that fits their situation: Dropping (giving up a seat with no swap needed), Flexible (open to multiple possible matches), or a direct 2-sided Swap (trading specific sections with another student). Each listing can include the exact courses, sections, and professors involved.
Smart matching
ClassSwap's Smart Match system scores compatibility between listings automatically, including partial/subset matches, multi-class requests, and normalization so listings match correctly even when course numbers or professor names are entered differently. A watchlist feature lets students save the specific class or section they're hoping opens up, with automatic alerts the moment a matching listing is posted — no need to keep checking manually.
Class Insights
Beyond swaps, ClassSwap connects students with peers who've already taken a class through Class Insights — an anonymous Q&A feature where students can ask and answer questions about specific professors and courses, covering things like teaching style, workload, grading, and what to expect. This means ClassSwap isn't just useful for trading seats — it's also a resource for making more informed decisions about which sections to take in the first place.
Communication and safety
All coordination happens through built-in, in-app messaging, with a dedicated message center separating active conversations from alerts and notifications. Listings are anonymous by default to protect student privacy, and a fraud/report system with admin moderation helps keep the platform safe and trustworthy. Notifications are standardized across every step of the process, so students always know the status of a request, whether an update was made, or when a conversation needs a response.
Built for how swaps actually happen
ClassSwap manages the full lifecycle of a swap automatically — from initial request through acceptance, confirmation, and completion — with time-based reminders and automatic resolution so listings don't sit stale or unresolved. Listings themselves expire on a set timeline to keep the platform current, with protections in place so an accepted request isn't lost mid-process. A referral system rewards students who help grow their school's community, and a "Mark Urgent" feature helps surface especially time-sensitive listings.
Works with your school, not around it
ClassSwap is a coordination tool that works alongside each school's official registration system — it does not process enrollment or registration changes itself. Students still finalize any schedule changes directly through their university's registrar or enrollment system; ClassSwap simply helps them find the right person to coordinate with and gives them the context to make smarter decisions about their classes.
Who it's for
ClassSwap is built exclusively for verified college students, with .edu-only signup ensuring the community stays limited to real students at participating schools. It's free to use — post, browse, connect, and get insights on classes and professors, all in one place.
