Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

CodeSession overview
What is CodeSession?
CodeSession is a browser-based technical interview platform that replaces screen-sharing, shared Google Docs, and Leetcode-style assessments with a purpose-built collaborative environment. Interviewers and candidates share a real-time code editor and whiteboard with nothing to install and no candidate account required.
At the core of CodeSession is a synchronized code editor where both parties can type simultaneously, with changes appearing instantly for all participants. The editor includes syntax highlighting, auto-formatting, and language-specific configuration across more than 40 programming and scripting languages: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Rust, Java, C++, C#, SQL variants, Ruby, Swift, and infrastructure formats like Dockerfile, YAML, and NGINX among them.
An embedded whiteboard is available in every session without needing a third-party tool. Interviewers use it for system design discussions, architecture diagramming, or sketching out problem structures. Custom whiteboard templates can be prepared in advance to standardize exercises across candidates. Similarly, custom code templates let teams create reusable starting environments pre-populated with boilerplate, instructions, or scaffolding so every candidate begins from the same baseline.
For asynchronous evaluation, CodeSession supports take-home test delivery. Candidates receive a link to a pre-configured coding environment and complete the challenge on their own schedule. Every session, live or take-home, is stored permanently at a unique, shareable URL regardless of plan level, enabling structured debrief conversations and cross-candidate comparisons long after the interview ends.
On the technical side, SSO is included on all plans including the free tier. Candidate access is link-based and session-scoped, meaning candidates see only the session they were invited to. Because interviews happen inside CodeSession rather than over a screen share, candidates' desktops, personal files, and other applications stay private. The platform is fully browser-based with no desktop client required for interviewers or candidates.
CodeSession offers two purchasing models. Session packs are one-time purchases valid for 12 months: 20 sessions for $99, 60 sessions for $249, and 150 sessions for $499. Subscription plans run from a genuine free-forever tier at 2 interviews per month, through Starter at $59 per month for 15 interviews, Growth at $149 for 40, Scale at $349 for 100, and Enterprise at $899 for unlimited interviews. Annual billing saves approximately 15%. Critically, all plans include unlimited users and the full feature set - pricing scales with interview volume, not headcount.
No implementation project is required to get started. Most teams conduct their first interview within 15 minutes of signing up. Session setup means selecting a language template, optionally customizing the starting code or whiteboard, and copying a link to send the candidate. No IT involvement and no ATS integration are needed to get moving.
