Cuecaps is a browser-based caption and subtitle tool for individual video creators, content editors, and social media publishers targeting platforms such as YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels. Running entirely inside a Chrome, Edge, or Safari tab with no installation required, Cuecaps transcribes video audio word by word, maps each word to a precise timing block on an audio waveform, and renders animated captions in a chosen style. All video processing and export rendering happen locally in the browser; source video never leaves the user's device, eliminating upload wait times and cloud re-encoding quality loss.

Cuecaps offers ten caption style presets, 24 video-licensed built-in fonts, and support for custom TTF, OTF, and WOFF font uploads on paid plans. Eight entrance animations (pop, punch, bounce, rise, slide, fade, focus, typewriter) with adjustable speed, five active-word highlight modes (colour, box, grow, dim, reveal), and full control over stroke outline, drop shadow, background card, letter case, words per phrase, and line count give editors granular visual control. Per-word timing blocks can be dragged or nudged in 10 ms increments on the waveform for frame-level precision.
