DJ.Studio overview

What is DJ.Studio?

DJ.Studio is a timeline-based DAW purpose-built for DJ mixing. Where deck-based software is designed for live performance, DJ.Studio is designed for preparation and production: the entire set is laid out horizontally, every edit is non-destructive, and every transition can be reopened and reworked at any point.

Core architecture

The Studio View timeline holds your full mix. Tracks can be reordered by dragging, trimmed at start and end, and adjusted independently. Alongside the main lanes there are sample lanes for one-shots, jingles and sound effects, and an input lane for recording voice-overs directly into the project.

Automated sequencing

Harmonize analyses a track selection and reorders it using tempo and harmonic key matching based on the Camelot Wheel, adjusting track lengths, transition points and tempo curves to produce a musically coherent sequence. Harmonic match indicators show compatibility between adjacent tracks at a glance. Beat grids can be edited manually where detection is off, and tempo can be set per track.

Transition and effect control

The Transition Editor exposes volume curves, equaliser sweeps, effects and stem-level mixing for every transirion. The automation editor lets you draw curves for any parameter across the timeline, and effect blocks activate and deactivate at precise points. A three-band equalizer sits on every track. The built-in effects pack covers filters, delays, reverbs and flangers; a separate extension emulates Pioneer hardware mixer effects.

Audio processing

Stem separation splits tracks into vocals, drums, bass and melody. Elastique Pro provides professional pitch shifting and time stretching. Mastering tools and a compressor polish the final output. VST3 and Audio Unit plugins load natively.

Integrations

Library: rekordbox, Serato, Traktor, VirtualDJ, Engine DJ, Mixed In Key, iTunes and Apple Music. Streaming and catalogue: Beatport, Spotify playlist conversion to Beatport Streaming, Loopcloud, 1001Tracklists. Export targets: Audio files, YouTube, Mixcloud, rekordbox, Serato, Virtual DJ and djay Pro with cue markers, Ableton Live and Bitwig with stems.

Export and publishing

WAV, MP3 or FLAC export at up to 30x realtime with no loss of precision. Mp4 video export with reactive visualisers. Stem export and quantised beatgrid export. Direct upload to Mixcloud and YouTube with auto-generated tracklists. Higher quality formats including Wav24, Wav32 and Flac24 on the Ultimate plan.

Platform and licensing

macOS and Windows desktop, with full offline mode. Proprietary license, one-time purchase, perpetual, with 12 months of updates and pro-level support and use on up to two machines. Free trial and money-back guarantee.
