DMX Core is a professional lighting control software platform designed for permanent installations in entertainment, hospitality, worship, and commercial environments. The software operates on Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms and provides organizations with both desktop software licenses and dedicated touchscreen hardware options. Deployments range from nightclubs and restaurants to houses of worship and architectural lighting installations where scheduled and remotely accessible control is essential. License tiers differ by the number of supported DMX universes, with a basic tier supporting eight universes and a full tier supporting eight hundred universes.
Fixture configuration and control capabilities enable users to organize lighting fixtures into zones, define reusable presets, and execute real-time adjustments to color, dimmer intensity, and positioning parameters with immediate visual feedback. A visual timeline editor supports recording from external consoles, construction of multi-segment lighting sequences, and synchronization of audio with lighting cues. Sequence playback functions include looping, fading, scrubbing, and triggering. The scheduling and automation engine accommodates time-based, date-based, and astronomical triggers, while communication protocols such as HTTP, OSC, MQTT, TCP, UDP, and DMX threshold detection facilitate event activation and custom logic execution via JavaScript scripting.
Supported DMX output protocols include ArtNet, sACN version one and version two, KiNet version one and version two, USB-based DMX output, and TPM two dot net. A browser-based web interface provides remote control from any network-connected device, and cloud tunnel functionality enables external access without virtual private network or port forwarding configuration. Multi-user access control features PIN or password authentication, configurable permission levels, audit logging, automatic log-off, and API token generation for integration with external systems. Custom branding options allow for tailored installation identities.
DMX Core integrates with third-party systems and control protocols including OSC, MQTT, REST API, HTTP, TCP, UDP, MIDI, Home Assistant, Q SYS, Symetrix, Elgato Stream Deck, and Key Digital keypads. These integration capabilities allow the software to function within building automation, audio-visual control, and entertainment technology ecosystems. Hardware deployment options include dedicated touchscreen controllers in four point three inch and seven inch configurations with Power over Ethernet capability and physical rotary knob controls. The product family also includes a Raspberry Pi Pico-based controller with dual isolated DMX five one two ports and support for programming in C slash C plus plus, MicroPython, or CircuitPython.
