Graitec File Sync is a Windows desktop application that synchronizes, migrates, and backs up construction project data across cloud platforms, document management systems, and on-premise storage. It is purpose-built for AEC file types and structures rather than generic folder mirroring, handling files, folders, custom metadata, version history, RFIs, submittals, sheets/drawings, and photos as first-class data types.

Core functions

Migration: Moves files and metadata into Autodesk Forma (ACC), BIM 360, or Procore while preserving folder structure and version history, for platform switches or company/project onboarding.

Security and Authentication.

File Sync uses OAuth (2-legged and 3-legged) for platform authentication, including Autodesk Secure Service Accounts (SSA) for server-to-server, unattended authentication without individual user credentials. Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. File Sync does not store synced data in its own cloud; transferred data is cached locally on the machine running the application, and the software strictly enforces the permissions already configured on source and destination platforms, so users only see and move files they are authorized to access. Cloud Network Licensing (default for new customers) centralizes license management for virtualized and cloud-hosted deployments without local license servers.
