Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

FireMic overview
What is FireMic?
FireMic is voice fire incident reporting for US fire departments. A firefighter talks through the call, and FireMic turns it into a structured NERIS incident report for the firefighter to check and file. NERIS replaced NFIRS as the federal fire incident reporting standard on February 1, 2026.
A firefighter opens FireMic in a browser on a phone, station tablet, or laptop and tells the call the way they would tell it back at the station. FireMic transcribes the recording and fills in the NERIS report: incident types across all three levels of the NERIS hierarchy, timestamps, responding units, actions taken, and both narratives. Every field filled in automatically is marked on screen, so the reviewer knows what to check. When a required field is missing, FireMic asks about it one question at a time instead of guessing.
Nothing is filed without a person reviewing it. The finished report goes to NERIS through the official federal API rather than as a spreadsheet for someone else to upload, and when NERIS rejects a submission the reason is shown in plain language, pointed at the exact field.
Other capabilities include dispatch prefill from records already in NERIS, local street and place-name vocabulary for transcription where available, roster login for shared station devices with PINs for officers and administrators, an optional officer review workflow with send-back comments, and report history with search, CSV export, and printable reports.
FireMic works alongside a department's existing records management system rather than replacing it. Software vendors can also put FireMic's voice capture inside their own incident form through a partner API and an embeddable widget built for web, iOS, Android, and Windows, and the vendor remains the NERIS submitter.
FireMic carries the NERIS V1 Data Exchange Compatible badge, a technical compatibility standard rather than an endorsement. It runs in the browser with nothing to install. A trial needs no account, and trial reports can be filed only to the NERIS test system until a department administrator enrolls FireMic in NERIS, which takes about two minutes.
FireMic was built by a Collingswood, New Jersey firefighter, with volunteer and combination departments as the first audience. Free NERIS reference tools are published publicly, including code lists for incident types, actions taken, location use, and fire cause, a department NERIS ID lookup, and an NFIRS to NERIS explainer.
