HorseBook overview

What is HorseBook?

HorseBook is software for running a breeding or boarding operation, on iPhone, iPad and the web, with the same records and the same words on all three.

For a stallion station or breeding farm, the Business plan holds the season. Mare owners' bookings go on each stallion's book with the deposit, stud fee and any shipments. You send a breeding contract, your own uploaded one or the built-in template, and the mare owner signs it on her phone with no app and no account. Frozen semen is kept by tank, canister and cane, straws come off when a frozen breeding is logged, and each tank has a nitrogen log with a refill reminder.

For a barn that boards and bills, each client is one account with one monthly statement: board, mare care, booking fees, and the vet and farrier bills you pass on at cost or with your markup. You record payments as they come in.

Your team gets its own logins. Managers work the whole operation; Staff log care and never see money.

Every plan includes the barn records underneath: horses, health and vaccinations, Coggins and papers, reminders, and the mare side from heat cycle to breeding, pregnancy checks and foaling. Photograph a vet bill or a Coggins and HorseBook fills in the record for you to check.

Moving from CRIO or a spreadsheet? Send us your files and we load your herd. Business is $39.99 a month, one flat price with no charge per mare, per stallion or per seat. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no card needed.
