What is Lex Cloak?
Lex Cloak is a PDF redaction app for Mac and Windows, installed on your own computer. Your documents are read and redacted there, and they stay there.
Drop in a contract, a medical record, a court filing or an employee file, and the free scan shows what is exposed: Social Security numbers, dates of birth, names, addresses, account identifiers and many other identifier types. Detection uses OCR and pattern matching, so scanned pages are covered too, and it also finds text a page does not show, like white type or words under a black box.
You review the matches and decide what goes. Lex Cloak applies the redactions you approve and saves a redacted copy as a standard PDF.
It is built for the moment a document leaves your control: sending it to opposing counsel, releasing medical records, responding to a FOIA request, preparing employee files, or uploading a client's tax return to an AI assistant once the names, Social Security numbers and account numbers are out.
Scanning is free, and so are your first three redacted documents. After that, a subscription is $35 a month or $350 a year. Built by Monty Home LLC (Denver, CO).
