Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Noden overview
What is Noden?
Noden is a native macOS client that brings every remote-access workflow into a single window: SSH, SFTP, RDP and USB serial console, plus a built-in password vault. It is written in SwiftUI and runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel, with no Electron, so it stays fast and light on memory.
Terminal: Open unlimited SSH sessions as tabs or in a resizable grid to watch several servers at once. It is a full xterm-compatible emulator with color themes, custom fonts, adjustable cursor, scrollback and searchable per-host command history. A local shell on your own Mac is available too, using your real PATH, Homebrew and dotfiles.
File transfer: A dual-pane SFTP file manager places local and remote side by side. Drag and drop to transfer in either direction, edit a remote file in your preferred editor and Noden syncs the change back on save, and pop the browser into its own window next to a terminal.
Remote desktop and serial: Reach Windows machines over RDP, rendered with Metal for smooth resizing, with clipboard and file copy both ways, shared folders and RD Gateway support. Connect to routers, switches, firewalls and embedded boards over USB-to-serial with vendor presets for Cisco, FortiGate, Sophos, MikroTik, Aruba CX and Ubiquiti.
Security: Passwords, SSH keys, API tokens and secure notes live in a Touch ID protected vault backed by the macOS Keychain, never on external servers. Link a connection to a vault entry so one password change updates every connection that uses it, type a secret straight into the terminal without it landing in shell history, and export or import the vault encrypted. Host key and RDP certificate verification warn you if either changes.
Integrations and setup: Noden imports your existing ~/.ssh/config and uses your ed25519 or ecdsa keys. It supports jump hosts (ProxyJump) and SSH tunnels to reach servers behind a bastion, and offers an encrypted backup of all connections you can restore on another Mac.
AI assistant: An optional assistant turns plain-English tasks into shell commands and waits for approval before running them, with a guard that flags destructive commands. Bring your own provider (OpenAI, Groq, OpenRouter or a local model) or use the built-in one, and turn it off anytime.
Noden is free for up to five saved connections. Noden Pro unlocks unlimited connections, full command history, the AI assistant and the password vault for $10 per year. Requires macOS 13 or later. Available on the Mac App Store and as a direct download.
