NotchLive overview

What is NotchLive?

NotchLive is a native macOS captioning and meeting-transcription app built around local processing. It captures system audio, microphone audio, or both from Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, browsers, videos, podcasts, lectures, and other Mac apps. WhisperKit and CoreML perform speech recognition on-device, so NotchLive does not create a cloud meeting workspace or join calls as a bot.

On Apple silicon, NotchLive separates remote voices into provisional, meeting-local speaker labels while keeping microphone captions assigned to You. After recording, users can review participants, rename or merge speakers, reassign full turns, split mixed turns, or leave uncertain speech unresolved. Meeting Analytics, saved records, exports, and notes use the reviewed transcript.

Raw and Clean transcript views preserve the captured record while providing a readable working version. Users can search the Timeline, save meetings locally, and export TXT, Markdown, or JSON. Voice Notes turns dictated speech into saved or exported notes.

Built-in Apple Translation supports 20 languages on macOS 15 or later. An optional local, read-only MCP server can expose saved meetings, Voice Notes, analytics, or finalized active captions to Codex and Claude when the user enables each data surface. The connection exposes no raw audio or write controls.

Live captions and automatic remote-speaker labels are free. Pro is a $24.99 one-time purchase. Team Packs cover 5, 10, or 25 Macs without subscriptions or user accounts.
