Orbit overview

What is Orbit?

Orbit is a cloud-based pay and reward platform that consolidates job evaluation, role architecture, market salary benchmarking, job description generation, and career pathway visualisation into a single integrated solution. Designed for HR and Reward teams across organisations of all sizes, from startups and scaleups to SMEs, charities, and global enterprises, Orbit supports equitable, transparent, and compliant reward decision-making across public and private sector industries including Housing, Finance, Technology, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Education, Retail, Logistics, Engineering, Utilities, Hospitality, Sport, and Charity and Not-for-profit.

Orbit uses a points-based analytical job evaluation methodology built on 15 discrete factors across six areas: Knowledge, Problem Solving, Decisions Made, Operational, Communications, and Working Environment. Salary benchmarking draws on a global database derived from over 16 million data points, updated monthly via feeds aligned to cost-of-living indices including the ONS monthly index, with country-specific employment norms for international benchmarking. Role architecture and grading modelling, career pathway visualisation (horizontal and vertical), organisational charting, and evaluation heatmaps are included alongside configurable permissions and access controls to safeguard sensitive data such as protected characteristics and salary information. An AI-supported job description generator, available from the Essentials Plus tier upward, uses structured data captured during the evaluation process to produce draft job descriptions for human review. Exportable reports and colour-coded PDF charts support stakeholder communication. ERP system integration is supported, and each organisation is hosted in an individual GDPR-compliant cloud instance, ensuring no cross-organisation data access.

Orbit is available in four tiers: Essentials, Essentials Plus, Pro, and Enterprise, with the Enterprise tier serving organisations managing more than 500 roles. The platform is aligned to the Equality Act 2010 and the EU Pay Transparency Directive, providing auditable evaluation processes that support gender pay gap identification and reporting. By combining live validated salary data, structured job evaluation, and visible career progression pathways, Orbit gives organisations a scalable reward framework that can evolve alongside organisational growth without reliance on a pay review cycle or a cost-per-role benchmarking model.
