PerilPulse overview
What is PerilPulse?
PerilPulse is a property hazard risk data API and analytics platform that serves property and casualty insurance underwriters, carriers, and real estate risk assessment professionals. The platform produces AI powered, property level hazard risk assessments across the United States, delivering comprehensive geospatial risk analytics for natural and man made perils. PerilPulse is designed as a drop in replacement for HazardHub and offers compatible API structures alongside enhanced data delivery methods and flexible pricing models.
The platform provides comprehensive hazard coverage for more than twenty five peril types. Flood risk analysis includes FEMA flood zones, flood depths, and return period estimates. Wildfire assessments incorporate risk zones and historical burn area mapping. Earthquake evaluations cover seismic hazards and soil liquefaction susceptibility. Wind hazard analytics address hurricane exposure and tornado likelihood. Hail probability and severity mapping are included along with storm surge height and coastal inundation data. Lightning strike density, landslide susceptibility, tsunami exposure, volcanic activity, sinkhole vulnerability, environmental risk factors, and crime statistics are also available. Each hazard evaluation includes a numerical risk score from zero to one hundred and a letter grade from A to F for consistent risk comparison.
PerilPulse accepts street addresses, geographic coordinates, or parcel identification numbers through a RESTful API. The system applies machine learning models to high resolution geospatial data and returns risk assessments in under one hundred milliseconds. The database encompasses over one hundred fifty million analyzed properties and operates with high availability. Results include location type classification, match level indicators, match type specifications, precise latitude and longitude coordinates, and detailed hazard specific data fields with both numerical and descriptive classifications.
The API architecture mirrors HazardHub request and response formats to facilitate migration without code modifications. Authentication relies on token based headers and responses are formatted in JSON to maintain compatibility with existing data models. Batch processing capabilities support high volume workflows and optional PDF report generation provides an alternative delivery format. Data undergoes continuous updates to reflect evolving environmental conditions, new property developments, and emerging risk patterns. The data originates from the modeling team behind the original HazardHub algorithms and includes enhancements in data delivery and comprehensiveness. The platform incorporates enterprise grade security and compliance measures and typically integrates with existing API infrastructure in under thirty minutes with support from migration guides and technical documentation.
