Pixicular - 2026 Pricing, Features, Reviews & Alternatives

Pixicular is a REST API for image analysis. Send an image as a multipart file upload to /v1/detect, or a URL as JSON to /v1/detect-from-url, name the services you want, and receive structured JSON in a single response.

Detection services:

- Content moderation - flags nudity, violence, drug use and other sensitive categories

- Age estimation - returns an estimated age range for each detected face

- Object and scene labels - identifies objects, scenes and concepts

- Text extraction (OCR) - reads printed and stylised text and returns bounding boxes

- Face emotion detection - identifies emotions on detected faces

Several services can be requested in one call using a comma-separated services parameter, and each is billed independently. Every response carries the service name, the result payload and the processing time in milliseconds.

Specifications: a stable, versioned /v1/ base path, rate limits of 60 detections per minute and 600 history reads per minute per key, and all traffic over HTTPS.

API key management: create, name and revoke keys from the dashboard, with up to 20 active keys per account so you can separate production, staging and CI. Keys carry a one-year expiry with rotation support, are shown in full only at creation time, and are stored hashed at rest. Each key records a last-used timestamp so unused or compromised credentials can be spotted quickly.

Dashboard: drag-and-drop upload with automatic compression for large files, a searchable history of every detection with photo previews and per-service confidence scores, usage statistics broken down by service for the current and previous periods, light and dark themes, and self-serve subscription management with Stripe-hosted billing and invoice history.

Integrations: Pixicular is a language-agnostic REST API, so it works with any stack that can make an HTTPS request. There is no SDK to adopt and no lock-in.

Plans: a free Developer tier with 100 images a month and no credit card, then 25, 99 and 299 US dollars a month for 1,000, 10,000 and 100,000 images respectively. Billing is available in USD, GBP and EUR.
