The system integrates a Kanban-style project board, a flow metrics module, a Monte Carlo forecasting engine and an accountability log into a unified workflow. The project board supports priority designation, epic grouping, team member assignment and configurable work-in-progress limits across standard stages from backlog through done. The flow metrics module provides cumulative flow diagrams, cycle time scatter plots, throughput run charts and work-in-progress trend analysis to reveal the performance patterns that underpin forecast accuracy. The forecasting engine executes ten thousand simulation trials per run, sampling from the board’s completed ticket history to generate a probability distribution with three confidence levels: an aggressive median outcome, a commercial estimate suitable for client commitments and a safe scenario that accounts for worst-case variability. Forecasts can be regenerated on demand whenever backlog composition or team capacity changes. The accountability log maintains a complete audit trail of all historical forecasts and the corresponding commitment dates.
PtahCast generates predictions exclusively from data captured within its own project boards and does not depend on external integrations. The platform requires no pre-existing historical data to begin producing forecasts, as statistical models are seeded from the first completed tickets and grow more confident as the dataset increases. Higher-tier plans offer white-label deployment with custom domains and agency-specific branding, enabling the distribution of probabilistic forecasts through secure links or embedded reports without exposing the internal project management interface. The system preserves separation between internal delivery workflows and external client reporting to maintain confidentiality of team performance metrics.
