Spigot is modern billing and operations software built specifically for mutual water companies, small water systems, and rural water districts — replacing spreadsheets and legacy tools with one connected system for meter reading, invoicing, payments, and shareholder management.

Billing & invoicing: Invoices auto-generate from meter reads and support flat, tiered, and volumetric rate structures, minimum charges, share assessments, purchased- or wholesale-water allocation, late fees, and the billing cycles you configure — so it fits the way mutual water companies actually bill.

Payments: Shareholders pay online by credit or debit card or by ACH bank transfer, or enroll in optional autopay with a saved payment method. An optional card-fee pass-through lets card payers cover their own processing cost, and checks and in-person payments are logged too, so your office keeps one complete record of who has paid. Payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant provider, so Spigot never stores card or bank account numbers.

Spigot Field (iOS): A dedicated meter-reading app captures reads with camera OCR and GPS tagging, works fully offline for rural routes with spotty coverage, and syncs the moment crews are back online — no paper, no clipboard, no re-entry.

Shareholder management: Track service connections, owners, mailing addresses, and share assignments in one place, with property transfers in a few clicks.

Supply vs. demand tracking: Compare water produced against water billed — system-wide or by zone — to catch leaks and loss early, with usage trends and board-ready summaries.

Security & access control: Data is encrypted in transit and at rest in our cloud database. Admin-only controls gate rates, settings, and voids, while field crews get access scoped only to meter reads.
