What is Underlayer?
Underlayer is an embedded training platform for software companies. It gives you everything needed to teach customers, partners and users inside your product: a course builder, an embeddable course player, learner tracking and an API.
Core functions:
- Course builder with 39 interactive block types, including quizzes, polls, scenarios, flashcards, steps, timelines, video, audio and code.
- AI course generation that turns a document, web page or prompt into an editable draft course.
- One-iframe embedding, with learners identified by your own signed user IDs, so there is no second login.
- Branded course player with eight built-in themes plus your own fonts and colours, working on desktop, tablet and phone.
- Learner tracking for views, progress, answers, completions, scores and certificates.
- REST API, signed webhooks and an MCP server for Claude, Cursor and other AI assistants.
- SCORM 1.2 and 2004 export and import for customers who use their own LMS.
- Translations into 22 languages, with right-to-left support for Arabic.
- Single sign-on, SCIM provisioning and audit log export on the Scale plan.
Underlayer is priced per course view rather than per seat. A free sandbox is available on request, and self-serve plans start at $149 per month.
