Great data manipulation tool

Matlab is a great tool for corporations and bit companies that can afford it, but if you are working on a project by yourself, I would recommend other free software that can get the job done without the price tag.

Pros
Matlab is very widely used and the community behind it makes it a great place to learn and ask questions on how to do things. The software is very capable and has tons of toolboxes to add more features.

Cons
The cost. If you don't get it with your work, or as a student, there are far cheaper alternatives that with a little work are almost just as capable. There is also a bit of a learning curve.

Great Software for Engineering and Math

I've spent a number of years working with MATLAB for my various engineering and neuroscience courses, as well as for a research project I did in analyzing the functional connectivity of macaque visual cortex. There are a number of amazing analysis that MATLAB can do as well as different ways to combine pieces of code to manipulate numbers, vectors, and matrices. Overall, I found the user experience to be very intuitive to grasp once I had received a basic tutorial in the functioning of the software and how to write the code. MATLAB is an extremely helpful and powerful software that allows for great analysis to be done on data sets.

Pros
Ease of use Amazing analytical capabilities The help function is extremely useful Applicable in multiple domains (engineering, science, mathematics) Tons of packages allow for a profusion of different capabilities (image processing, statistical analysis, fourier breakdowns, etc.) The why function is awesome Good basic introduction to programming for people who have no background in it at all

Cons
Cost (relatively low if you can buy through your school, not cheap for enterprise licenses) Can't write software, just does analysis

I have been using Matlab for implementing Digital Signal Processing related algorithms and simulation purpose. It's serving me properly.

Pros
The local full documentation helps a lot, specially for the complete beginners. Debugging tools are useful too. Easy switching between editor, Console and visualization windows, and working with multiple tabs on screen give a fluency in work.

Cons
The pricing plans should have been cheaper. Considering the current alternatives and improvements of free Python libraries, Matlab should've had a free version. Matlab is not suitable for low end or mid range PCs. Further optimizations could've made it even better overall.

Very easy to use and a good simulation software. No other software is present in the market that can completely beat its capabilities.

Pros
The best part of the software is the available documentation about each and every function and toolbox. The community present also is very active and useful when debugging code.

Cons
The cost of license is high. Although you can buy the cheaper version of Matlab usually the more complicated toolboxes are part of the premium license which is a bit expensive.

Pros
MATLAB is one of my favorite software when it comes to working with a lot of data. There are numerous things that I love about MATLAB. What I like most about the software is that it allows me code pretty fast that I do not think the other programming languages could even be compared to it. Sometimes I need to check a lot of different possibilities when I code and thanks to MATLAB's ability to code in an extremely short time period that saves a lot of my time.

Cons
Even though I highly enjoy making use of the features the software provides me with, there is one thing I am not really happy about. It is its price. What I personally think is that the price is not cheap enough for an average person that would like to make use of the software.

During my university years, I was using MATLAB so often. Most of the projects were assigned for matlab. Not only for analysis, instructors were assigning task via matlab to make us learn the software better. All instructors enforces us to learn the programing language. The language was easy to learn.

Pros
I used matlab too much during university. I was satisfied with using matlab for my homeworks. the language is quite well and easy. It is easy to learn the coding, syntax and language. Tutorials can be easily found from websites. If someone is familiar with coding languages, such as C or SQL, they can easily use this software. Simulation can be done easily. The visualization is well.

Cons
Some features has to be studied on, such as simulnk. Beside that, once you make some errors, corrective actions are hard to do. Price/performance is not too low. Performance is high but price is much more higher.

MATLAB allows engineers to manipulate matrix, plot of functions and data and implementation of algorithm. It make users to work efficiently and also ease their work by making it faster. Finally, I think if MATLAB is cheap to users, it will make the software overall leading in terms of manipulations of data.

Pros
Actually, I really like all the features in this software which allows users to plot functions of data, matrix manipulations and implementation of algorithm. Furthermore, MATLAB is easy to use for users and also make engineers work easier and faster.

Cons

Further the provided documentations are extremely helpful to get familiar with unknown functions and to know how to use them if you are beginning to use Matlab. So, Matlab is highly recommended to have among your usual tool set as it surely gives you a convenient platform for programming and simulations for a wide range of applications.

Pros
In Matlab, we can perform matrix calculations very easily which makes it an ideal tool to use for machine learning and image processing applications. Further Simulink, the simulation tool of the software package is very useful and easy-to-use with a wide range of simulations scenarios.

Cons
The price of the software may be a bit difficult to afford but given the functionalities and capabilities of the software, it is reasonable, yet can be a bit hard to afford for small-scale or middle-scale businesses.

MATLAB is a highly resourceful software.Maybe it is the only software that deals with so many branches of science while keeping the user interface as simple as possible.Although the price is a bit much but anyone with a zeal for becoming an expert in simulation should buy this software.

Pros
The most important feature of MATLAB is its plug & play structure.Anyone with zero knowledge can easily understand how it works within a few weeks. The user interface helps a lot in this matter. The library plays a significant role in explaining how different aspects of this software works by giving examples. The online community also helps anyone with a question and it's free for any student.Perhaps the one thing that differentiates MATLAB from the other softwares in the market is its emphasis on keeping everything updated as well as it can. That's why it publishes an updated version every six months.

Cons

Pros
I like the rich toolboxes and capabilities of the product, it's a high programming language that lets you express matrix and array mathematics directly, it gives visualization right next at the code that produced them. It's a great tool for real time analysis.

Cons
As an admin of the license server and the individual and floating users, there is no a straight forward way to update the license server as well as the MATLAB clients, an automated license and client upgrade is required. Also it's not easy (although improved) to install and activate the software.
