User opinions about Microsoft Excel price and value

Value for money rating:

Of 186 reviews that provide robust commentary on Microsoft Excel's price and value, 69% mention it in a positive light.

Some reviewers find Microsoft Excel to be a valuable tool for various financial and inventory management tasks, appreciating its comprehensive features and functionalities. They mention that Excel is useful for creating spreadsheets, managing inventory, and performing financial calculations, which can help streamline business operations. Users also appreciate the availability of a free version for students and the option to purchase genuine activation keys at a nominal price. Some users highlight the affordability of monthly payment plans, which can be more manageable than paying the full yearly cost upfront.

However, some users report that the cost of Microsoft Excel can be high, especially for individual licenses and small businesses. They express concerns about the subscription-based model, which requires ongoing payments and can be expensive over time. Some reviewers mention that the standalone cost of Excel is excessive and that the advanced features may not justify the price for their needs. Additionally, users note that there are free alternatives available, such as Google Sheets and LibreOffice, which can perform similar functions at no cost. The training costs associated with learning Excel's advanced features are also seen as a drawback by some users.

Check .

To see what individual users think of Microsoft Excel's cost and value, check out the review excerpts below.

“I use the application to create spreadsheets, and do inventory and financial control, the free version is nice and serves a lot for organization, the tool makes my job easier.”
“However, you may pay it monthly, which can be more sufficient and affordable for those who aren't willing to pay the full yearly cost upfront. While LibreOffice may be a more ideal choice for a PC, Microsoft office 365 offers other services that are easier to work with, especially for users who aren't as knowledgeable about computers or technology as a whole.”
“Two things if you don't have it free with your computer then you have to buy it and it can be kind of expensive and if you want to be able to collaborate and make on the fly changes with others then you need office 365 and you have to pay monthly you can never own it.”

I especially enjoy the browser version of Microsoft 365. I understand that not everyone has access to the Microsoft Office suite of applications, and its just convenient to access my license from a browser, use all the functionalities of a conventionally installed Microsoft Office within the browser to work, and then logout to have my work updated and synced to my personal device. Its just perfect.

You can have one application which will have access to all your other accounts. Microsoft guarantees security for those who keep their accounts safe with complex passwords, different for each account, some extra security features like MFA, back up cell, e-mail, etc.

I use all parts of the Microsoft Office suite to perform their independent functions... and then merge them together into a single document. It is awesome how well all parts of the suite "play well together"!

An affordable easy way to run your business. It gives you the software program-Excel, Word ,Outlook and Office all in one. These all have many great and useful tools to help operate your business.

Uploading files on the cloud with the use of Microsoft 365 is very easy and submission of data and reports is very handy. All Microsoft apps go hand in hand with each other.

because it complements some aspects of the program as it happens with Microsoft Word or Publisher, in many occasions Excel is not enough to integrate all the information.

Simply put, the best collection of software for work productivity on the market with online and offline access to create anything you may need for personal or work usage.

Excel sheets can be inserted into other apps in the entire Microsoft Office library. It helps a lot with presentations and/or calculations.

Now a days. We are using Microsft 365. Because by installing one package we can use all serivces lilke word, excel , project, skype etc.

It connects it will other programs with the same basic foundation so that formatting and tasks become much smoother with fewer errors.

Using Excel within the 365 platform, the cost benefit is excellent, in addition to the easy integration with other microsoft software.

I sometimes use word or other documents along in my spreadsheets for further explanation which help but not on a regularly basis.

It works with all the other Microsoft Office programs and keeps updated over the cloud.

Copy and pasting long strings of text from one program to another is very doable. It won't cause issueswith the text formatting.

Composing on Microsoft excel to me is a piece troublesome, for that reason I do all my composing to Microsoft Word.

It is important to use both of these tool in sync to get the best possible results of managing your data.

Mail merge is incredible and so is the ability to pull data into other documents and presentations.

Can paste Excel data and still have a way to format it conveniently natively within word

Both software are complementary, exchange data, tables and graphs between them.

Because most of the customer I work with were working with Microsoft Excel for their data and when they need more detailed report I often have to connect their Excel documents to Power BI to build their report.

We have began to fix our data report into Power BI with Excel as datasource. This brings about a high level of synergy for the products.

I do a part of data Analysis on power BI and power BI is easy to use when it comes to charts and visualisation.

The best tool to visualize data into 12 + Charts and a lot of features as well that come with Power BI.

Using OneDrive I can access my Excel files from any computer with an Internet connection. Moreover, the files are automatically saved and backed up. So gone are the days of missing data due to power loss or your PC crashing.

Access to spreadsheet files from multiple devices is critical for hybrid work environments, and is very useful for file sharing within work groups.

Having access to files from multiple locations, sharing files and ensuring they are backed up allows our work to remain useful.

It allows for our spreadsheets and documents to be shared across several states and members or our company in real time.

With the good features of SharePoint lists, I rarely have to connect Microsoft Excel to Microsoft Teams, but it still happens, especially when customers aren't that familiar with SharePoint.

Pros
“It is so powerful, and I know I'm barely scraping the surface of what all it's capable of. It is amazing for tracking progress, analyzing data, and staying organzied.”
“I like the ease of this software to input my numbers that have been acquired over the year and is a good reference to keep my numbers straight.”
“I would easily recommend it as it's perfect for kids in school, in the work place etc. All it's features are detailed and open doors for me to be as creative as I want to be.”
Cons
“Some of the error messages are hard to decipher when using the software and the functions have confusing variables to put in at times.”
“The software cannot be readily integrated or harmonized with other information systems. The software is totally insensitive to human errors; it does not prompt the user when there is an error.”
“When there is a large amount of data entered into a spreadsheet it's inevitable to have trivial human mistakes made. Sometimes it's very difficult to find those mistakes later.”
