Pros

And, best of all if you are an educator you can apply for an education license giving you all the benefits of a pro version of Canva. Finally, Canva has amazing customer support.
Super easy to use and learn, and the pro version adds a lot of extra features. Background remover is easily the best feature and worth the price if you do your own product photos.
You are able to change the text, colors, and layouts. It has been such a wonderful experience that I highly recommend this to anyone who owns a business and needs help with social media posts.

Pros

IT is really nice that I don't have to have a subscription to a professional tool like Adobe Indesign to be able to make meaningful graphics for my business.
It is great if you're looking for variety, this software contains beautiful textures which is great if you're looking to stand out.
I'm very happy with what this software has to offer, it's very user friendly and a great editing software for anyone to use.

Cons

There is a problem with Arabic text when exporting the photo. It makes the design has a bad look and there is a problem with the pixels.
Sometimes it will crash or slow down without warning while I am working on a more graphically-intense project, such as an animated image.
I hate the fact that we have to pay for certain fonts... thats very annoying and having to pay in general.

Cons

I dislike that I would have to pay to use the premium features, but I understand why. I probably would pay if I needed to use it more often.
The worst thing about this app is the login options. Since it's new upgrade, the login has gotten really tacky.
But if they just fix their log in problems, it'd be a beast.

Canva is a great option!

I make all of my marketing ads using either Canva or PicMonkey

Pros

I love that Canva is free for users but also has paid options if you'd like greater features! I use it daily!

I haven't really found anything I feel is a "con" about this software, it does everything I need to create great marketing ads!

Canva Helps Me Create

Reviewed 4 years ago

It's been a great experience. Without an affordable program like this I don't know that I would have been able to start my design shop on Etsy. And it is much less intimidating to start with this than with adobe.

Pros

I tried Picmonkey and Canva at the same time, but Canva allowed me to see more than one canvas side by side when I view in the all pages view. The price is the same but Picmonkey didn't have that. I also appreciate it's ease of use and that you can save all your work right there. It gives me peace of mind to know my projects are safe.

Cons

I almost went with Picmonkey because I really wanted an option of a graph paper background to make sure everything was lining up perfectly. Right now Canva has snap grid lines which are okay, but can be finicky. It leaves me sometimes with no option but to eye ball it.

Great use for cards and templates!

Reviewed 5 years ago

Canva is good overall and will use it again!

Pros

I like canva but just not as much as picmonkey...maybe because I haven't dug in deep yet with it but seems to be good for cards, invites and business cards.

Cons

I like picmonkey better but it's good. Seems a bit overkill in terms of so much to see, too many options, can get a bit confusing. It would be nice if it was streamlined a bit more.

Get rid of PicMonkey!

Reviewed 4 years ago

I love it and look forward to creating on it daily for my business pages on Facebook and Instagram.

Pros

I have used picmonkey for years, but after hearing someone mention Canva on YouTube I decided to check it out. Similar categories you would see if you have used other image creating apps (FB banner options, Instagram posts, YouTube Banners, invitations etc) but the ease to use CANVA and edit what you need were so simple and effortless I havent opened up Picmonkey since. I also PAY for Picmonkey,...

Cons

I disliked how I realized I was wasting money on other apps 🤣 I believe Canva needs more word of mouth promotions 🗣 . I only started seeing ads for Canva when I downloaded the app and Facebook suggestions started popping up. I will be sure to share on my YouTube as well for my fellow followers and entrepreneurs.

An adjustment but pretty impressive

Reviewed 3 years ago

It's a great free tool, especially if you have zero design experience -- lots of pre-fab materials to plug in your own content.

Pros

I am a longtime user of PicMonkey, and MS Paint way way way before that...so Canva is a bit less intuitive for me in terms of the interface. I will say there is a much more robust library of stock images and features.

Cons

It's a little too stylized for me, I prefer a more utilitarian screen to work with so I'm wasting less time finding tools and scrolling past templates I don't need.

Canva Is An Easy Way To Make Graphics Online

Reviewed 6 years ago

We have graphic designers at work, but having access to Canva allows non-designers to create quick graphics when the designers are busy. It also saves time so that they can focus on larger tasks.

Pros

It is extremely easy to use. I've used picmonkey and a few other online graphics sites and Canva is hands down the best. From creating graphics to being able to upload your own fonts, it lets you make graphics easily and quickly!

Cons

I wish they would add more graphics, after awhile, you see the same things over and over again.

Frustrating

Reviewed 5 years ago

This came highly recommended to me from a writing colleague, and I could not figure it out for the life of me.

Pros

I love the idea that I could create images without knowing Photoshop or graphic design or coding. I love the idea that some of them were formatted Into templates

Cons

I found it confusing and frustrating. I could not create within the framework’s given or upload an image And add text. I wanted to create bookmarks, book covers, and even a basic Facebook banner. Nothing I did worked. I have used other similar software with success. PicMonkey being one of them.

I LOVE Canva!

Reviewed 5 years ago

I use Canva to create images for my Facebook Ads and Pinterest posts as well as images for professional looking flyers and infographics for my website. I also really love how Canva offers a wide variety of images for use for a very reasonable price.

Pros

I love Canva because it is so easy to use. One thing I really suck at is graphic design--really it is not my forte! Canva makes designing professional looking infographics extremely easy by providing easy to use professional looking templates. I use this software all the time to create ads, social media posts, and images for my website. I find Canva offers more easy to use features than some of the other similar tools I have tried such as PicMonkey.

Cons

I have only used the free version. While I did try out the upgraded paid version of the software I found that I really only had a need for a single feature in the paid version--which is the ability to create a document in a custom size. It would be nice if there were a way to pick and choose and pay for only the features I actually will use rather than having to pay to upgrade to the full suite of features which at this time I don't need. Also I really wish there were a way to change templates while I am designing a document without it deleting the current work I have done so far. As it stands now each time I change my mind in the middle of trying out a design and want to try a new template I have to start over. This is kind of a hassle.

Wonderful design resource, must-have

Reviewed 4 years ago

Canva makes it so easy to create fast and easy designs, from social media graphics to email, and even web in a pinch. We can store brand colors and assets which makes generating large quantities of designs for multiple channels easy and fast. I find this so much faster and more intuitive than tools like Photoshop and the workflows, templates, and re-size options, as well as the ability to save brand colors and custom uploads make Canva easier to work with for us than Picmonkey which was actually a great resource for many years. Overall, I would say that Canva is an essential part of our workflow. It saves a ton of time and allows us to look very professional even with limited design skills.

Pros

1. Templates 2. Ability to store brand colors 3. Love the built-in icon and asset library, this is wonderful 4. Re-size option for quick design variations across multiple channels

Cons

A few very specific things - 1. The process for exporting an item as a PNG is un-intuitive 2. Upload folders are clunky and difficult to manage 3. There is currently no way I'm aware of to organize the designs you create, for example, by organizing them into folders. Finding and editing previous designs can become unruly

Picmonkey è uno degli strumenti più semplici da usare per quanto riguarda l’editing delle foto, quindi se sei a digiuno di nozioni di grafica e non hai mai usato in vita tua Photoshop, questo è il tool che fa per te.

I like PicMonkey but switched to Canva

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

PicMonkey has definitely evolved, likely since Canva came out on the market, but when I was actively using it, it was the easiest way at the time to overlay text on photos and make other simple, professional-looking graphics.

Cons

When it launched, Canva had a much more robust suite of features than PicMonkey and it seems PicMonkey is now trying to catch up. Canva is a bit more intuitive to use.

PicMonkey Easy and Fun

Reviewed 4 years ago

So far with PicMonkey I’ve enjoyed what I’ve done. I’m still going to use Picmonkey in conjunction with some of my favorite free design softwares as I don’t feel like it has everything I need.

Pros

I just started using pic monkey to enhance my pictures and designs. So far, it has been very easy to use.

Cons

Since I’m used to using Canva, picmonkey has been a little bit more difficult for me to understand. There are some features on picmonkey that are not on Canva. I still tend to start with Canva, and if I can’t accomplish what I need for my design enhancement, are usually go over to picmonkey to finish my design.

A worthy competitor to Canva

Reviewed 5 years ago

This is a user-friendly, one-stop solution for creating graphics. It is a little easier to use than Canva but it also doesn't cover the scope that Canva does.

Pros

The output quality can be spotty - sometimes it blurs images and it's not clear why it does that or how that can be addressed.

Pros

PicMonkey is a good basic photo editing program.

Cons

There's a few things I don't like about this program now that there are better options like Canva out there. Technically Canva isn't the best for photoediting but PicMonkey makes you pay for features that you used to not have to pay for. I also think I can make way more aesthetically appealing images, documents and graphics on Canva than I can on PicMonkey.

I have no problems with PicMonkey- it just wasn't for me!

Pros

Cons

PicMonkey is nothing special and I found the templates to be boring and unoriginal. I chose to use other competitors like Canva to do my projects. I'm not aware if PicMonkey has an app - but Canva does, and that's what sold me.

Nice software, can't justify price

Reviewed 5 years ago

It's been good, however I think Canva is a better platform to use.

Pros

It's a nice graphic design software which I have had some of my clients use and tell me about. It's user friendly.

Cons

It's not worth the money, Canva is free to use and to do exactly the same thing as pic monkey. They should reconsider what they are charging for.

PicMonkey for non profit use

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

PicMonkey is great if you are a beginner at Marketing and want to make logos and social media content. Its easy to use and has a lot of great features. I use it personally for picture editing and it works great since I'm not skilled in that area.

Cons

Its very basic. I prefer Canva for business use but Picmonkey is great for personal or a beginner

Similar to Canva

Reviewed 2 years ago

I have never had to contact customer service, the product has always editing photos and produced high-quality images that are easy to download. Worth trying!

Pros

I have used PicMonkey for 2+ years and it has evolved and become a competitor of Canva. You can edit people - their faces, skin tone, hair, body size, etc. But now you can add in graphic design and use their templates. Some clients think this is worth the monthly payment, but it depends.

Cons

While it's more expensive than Canva, it's free version is useful for clients who want the bare minimum for in-house simple editing. If you're looking for easy-to-use social media templates or posters for in-house marketing, I would suggest Canva as it's cheaper.

Not bad, prefer Canva

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

This is better for image editing, editing images or making graphics that primarily feature images. I also like their mobile ap feature.

Cons

I prefer Canva for making graphics, as there is a free version and there are so many templates to use.

Good tool for creating

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall my experience started out great with PicMonkey but then I found Canva and was able to create more with that software.

Pros

This is a good tool to use to create social media posts, documents and presentations with icons and graphics. Very user friendly as well.

Cons

It seemed to have its limitations creatively. I ended up switching over to Canva to create my social media posts.

PicMonkey

Once the best free option out there, now mediocre

Reviewed 5 years ago

Every once in a while, I still use PicMonkey, especially if I'm in a hurry and just need to crop a photo. Overall, I'd look elsewhere for more robust image editing.

Pros

A few years ago, when I first started using PicMonkey, it was the best option I could find for free, online image editing. PicMonkey lets you easily touch up, edit, and format images for just about any use you can imagine. It gives lots of options for color editing and filters especially, making it easy to produce Instagram-ready images.

Cons

Now that Canva is available, I don't really use PicMonkey anymore: compared to Canva, PicMonkey is clunky and slow, and it's become more and more difficult to use without getting through a paywall. Canva lets you do way more things to your images for free, and it organizes your work more easily. It feels like PicMonkey hasn't been keeping up with the times and updating its functionality as the internet has changed, especially as the internet becomes more image-heavy.

Better than Canva

Reviewed 5 years ago

PicMonkey makes it easy to create collages and edit photos.

Pros

PicMonkey is like Canva, but better. It has more capabilities in editing photos and effects. Photo overlays are great

Cons

This may sound stingy, but the monthly price is a bit high for me. I understand some businesses that would love that, but for me personally, it's a naw.

Easiest online design tool ever!

Reviewed 5 years ago

Easy to use templates are always welcome when you don't have a clue of what you wish to do with your canvas. The editor is intuitive and if a class of high schoolers in Ohio can use this tool efficiently then anyone can! (No offense to my home state :D)

Pros

I'm 27 and we started learning PicMonkey back in High School! It was my first adventure into the design world. We learned how to use the tool back then to make basic creations. Any design level can learn how to use PicMonkey, it was the Canva before Canva was even heard of!

Cons

I haven't used the software in awhile but since it's still around it's a major player in the online design tool arena.

PicMonkey

An easy to use graphic design software

Reviewed 2 years ago

Overall, if I'm suggesting the most basic graphic design program to begin with for newbies, PicMonkey wins even though there are some features that are lacking compared with some other graphic design software. You can use the most features for free and it's more user-friendly.

Pros

I liked the ease of use of the software as well as the text effects. It may not be as fancy as the Photoshop effects you get, but you can create a nice glow effect with the font lettering. I also like that you can create different dimensions for various social media channels, making it easy for those who are using this software for social media management purposes. I also like that you can use so many features for free, unlike other designing platforms.

Cons

I don't like that there are glitches that happen with PicMonkey and I do feel like Canva offers more use with their paid features. At the same time, I feel like even though PicMonkey lacks some features of Canva like a wider range of vector illustrations and templates, it's the easiest to learn on.

Easy to Use Photo & Graphic Design Editor

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

It allows me to add filters, effects, text, and graphics to create professional-looking images for my blog posts and social media posts.

Cons

The pricing is too high compared to its competitors like Canva, where they offer a free version to get our hands on right away
