Great for Photographers

2019-01-29

Much better than Dropbox!

Pros

My 2GB of file transfer is just about right for me 95% of the time, when it isn't sufficient i just have to break my transmissions into 2 parts, not a big deal. & the fact that my links never expire is handy for my clients.

Cons

nothing to report on my end. Everything is ok & no cons...

Easier than Dropbox

2019-01-29

I have the need to share large image files, and it works great for that.

Pros

I was fed up with Dropbox and discovered Hightail.

Cons

Page layout isn't as user friendly as it used to be.

Life saver for large files

While you have dropbox and other similar tools, pure email based file delivery is important when you are working with 3rd parties.

Easy to use...

Very good

Pros

Easy, fast, good customer support. Don't know why you are red highlighting this box and not letting me go to the next page.

Cons

They make us use WeTransfer or Dropbox.

No Hassle file transfer

2019-02-01

And more professional look for my company than the 'dropbox' for the masses.

Pros

There are no hassles with ftp sites or slow and vulnerable dropbox sites.

Cons

The 'send file by Hightail' option no longer comes up in the pop-up menu when I right click a file in windows explorer. Missing Sendit that way. Now with the new Hightail interface I have to click on the program icon first to launch the program, login with password and then insert file.

Similar to Dropbox, but perhaps slightly more user-friendly

2018-12-07

We also "hightail" files much more than we use Dropbox to external partners.

Pros

I think it's easy to use for less tech-savvy people. You can just drag and drop files and copy links without having to figure out how to send the email full of files.

Cons

I think I just prefer Dropbox to Hightail and the way it's being utilized within my team is a bit confusing (one administrator and we all log in as the same person), which means the receiver can be a bit confused.

Always reliable. Excellent Value. Seldom use any other Transfer method.

2019-01-29

Have been using Hightail since long before they changed the name. Always my "go to" when doing file transfers, unless a client forced me to use their ftp or other method. Have never had a bad file transfer. Would highly recommend for either their free version or the paid customizable one. Have used both. Have not use the collaboration portal, but expect that it is just as good as the rest of the site.

Pros

Great dropbox option.

Cons

Can't think of anything that I would change or can complain about.

Hightail is not my favorite

We have replaced hightail with Dropbox. There were limits on the size of files you could send .

Easy as pie!

2019-03-02

Most of the time I'm sending large audio files, occasionally a file of photos, and sometimes collections of pdfs that won't fit in an email. I've got a big mouth (just ask my wife) and I usually have criticisms of just about everything but I can't think of one for Hightail. Good work!

Pros

Particularly when compared to Dropbox, which it seems I'm always confused trying to use.

Cons

I'm sitting here trying to think of some problem I've had and I can't come up with anything.

Straight forward and easy

2012-10-01

Recently I have started to use Dropbox more but because YouSendIt doesn't have the finite space restriction (talking about the free plans of both) and you don't have to tidy up after yourself it just keeps on working.

Thanks!

As noted above, forwarding of high resolution photos from my sources and forwarding those photos to my editor has been extremely valuable for me, saving time, as well as wear and tear on my nerves!

Pros

, Hightail Further, I can send a link to my Hightail dropbox to my sources, so they can easily send the photos to me.

Cons

I can't think of anything I don't like. Hightail has always worked very well for me.

Nice service... but promising more than it can accomplish.

2014-08-14

Google drive does it, Dropbox does it and many others....

Pros

Clean interface Nice upload speed through the Hightail tracker app Nice download speed with the download link from the sending service Expiration date control of sent files and tracking about "by who" and "when" the file was downloaded.

Cons

Unfair storage space offer (promising what they cannot accomplish). Only your main operating system drive can sync files to the cloud. Bad sync app not offering the functions that a sync app must have today. You can't preview files online easily.

Customer since 2008

It is not the only cloud service I use, as I have Dropbox, Skydrive, Box and iCloud accounts.

Pros

Unlimited Storage 25 GB file transfer Password protection Delivery receipts View activity Collaboration with others Set expiry date. Sync folders to desktop Express app Hightail Spaces Perfect tool for desktop collaboration.

Cons

Not intuitive on mobile devices. The tracking app on iPhone and iPad cannot be used to forward files sent earlier from Tracker app, where it used to be possible to do so in yousendit app (the prior brand/software) but hightail rewrote the API and disabled that functionality. While perfect on desktop, on mobile browsers the site does not format correctly within the window and text stays outside viewing area.
