Pros

Love it, love it love it. As a small business, it has al of the tools we need to run and operate our business.
My overall experience with Google Workspace has been great. There are so many useful tools within it and it is perfect for a business owner.
A really great place to work out of, ease of use is 10/10, and just really a workplace's best friend.

Pros

The best features of Slack are its innovative interface and easy to use features. Slack makes it simple, and even kind of fun, to communicate with your coworkers quickly.
I like the different slack channels for various departments, tech-support, team, individual messaging, and celebrating my teams successes or helping each other out with account challenges.
Slack has been a winner for me no matter which role I am filling. Teams adopt it quickly it's easy to use, easy to set up, and has abundant opportunities for integrations.

Cons

For example, inserting code into a google doc is sometimes ugly and extremely inconvenient. I imagine there are other similar specialized use cases that should be added.
We did run into occasional glitches and bugs, especially where access permissions are concerned, which can be a problem.
At times when files are imported from external apps such as Microsoft 360 for example there are loss of formatting and data types which is inconvenient.

Cons

While they are only visible to me, I am always worried that I accidentally posted something wrong.
I disliked the inability to make a public group "private" after it's creation. Would occasionally lag and my.
I hate hate hate how often I struggle with using the video share and audio when someone calls me on slack. It almost never works for me.

I would say it's definitely great. This is a life saver for those who need to work from home. I am hoping that this Workspace can be offered to small business as well who also needs this kind of platform to make their work easier.

Pros

This software is very user friendly. Google has been around for quite a long time and so long as you're familiar to use Google, it makes Workspace easy to use as well.

Cons

It would be the chat feature. I find it a bit complicated than Slack. Before we transitioned to Google Chat, we were using Slack and I find Slack better in terms of ease of use.

Extremely capable colaboration and office suit.

Pros

It's a huge and extremely flexible solution for small and really big businesses. It's gmail, it's google docs, calendar, file sharing with team drive and much more. All cuting edge google colaboration apps customized for corporate usage. All of that with strong security and durability for your data. Can't really work without it.

Cons

Price per user is little high and chat solutions are still little behid the competition (like Slack).

Pros

G Suite is to my opinion the best solution you can find to set up emails at a small company. You get emails and Google Docs which are both excellent to collaborate

Cons

Google Hangouts is really bad. I would suggest to purchase a tool like Workchat or Slack for messaging

I have been using it since it was google apps and it has been rock solid.

Pros

I much prefer the ease of use and configuration of gsuite to office 365. The integration of all the products is phenomenal.

Cons

Chat is the weakest point. It doesn’t compare to alternative products such as slack or even skype for business.

Cons

I don't like Google hangout as much as other messaging tools. So we use Slack for our office instead.

Thoughtful user experience and user interface design which makes it easy for you to work on any device, any where. When remote working collaboration is so much more simpler with version control and auto save.

Cons

Chat, video and groups integration could be better. They still feel siloed in comparison to a product like Slack.

Its resolve all work for my bussiness, storge its ok but i think the increase in a few months

Pros

Its very easy to use for new user instead the Outlook, many service for office work compatible with open sources programs

Cons

Its litle expensive for micro bussiness, storage is very small, more plugins for other software office like trello, slack, confluence, etc

I used Google workplace as part of a software team, and found it was helpful for communicating and had good support.

Pros

I use Google workplace on a team, and it has a lot of features and functionality that makes crossover easy, like all the productivity tools you normally use were combined into one.

Cons

It feels redundant with some other software, like slack, if they are both used. Otherwise, it was friendly and easy to use.

Google Chat for G Suite is worth the buy

Been using Google Hangouts and Slack to communicate with the department and company, but recently learned more about the Chat feature in G Suite. Love that all of the Hangout IM features are still there, with the option to create rooms to replace the Slack we've been using. Found out the price for Slack was SO MUCH MORE, just so we could search history. Chat allows searching not only group rooms, but also all hangout IMs -this is what brought us over. Streamlining is also pretty awesome.

Pros

SEARCHING HISTORY! When you have a lot of people and new people often, it's invaluable to be able to search historical chats for tips and tricks. Starring priority rooms is awesome. Love the scheduling bots and other bots to work with various softwares. And even something as silly/simple as allowing me to choose my emoji skin tone once and having it remember and always pick the one I want (hangouts doesn't do that) is awesome!

Cons

I liked having my Hangouts in my email window instead of a different tab.

Productivity software for businesses that most users will be very familiar with already

Pros

Google's productivity software for business (Google workspace) has many users who already know it well and are familiar with it from personal use. This provides an often overlooked benefit in that any organisation adopting Google workspace effectively has hours of free training for computer literate employees. Having used this and Microsoft Teams. I find they both have similar offerings of software but Google Workspace software seems to be simpler and easier to get used to. This could be a better UI/UX design or less legacy features but either way I consider this to be superior to most of the other options on the market.

Cons

I found that the adoption of google chat is less advanced than other options. Slack and Microsoft teams have better messaging tools than Google Workspace and this provides a critical weakness in their offering. With some organisations I worked at in the past buying Slack for the entire team instead of using Google's service.

Pros

Google Workspace is so user-friendly, so adaptable, and SO effective.

Cons

It'd be cool if there was somehow an extension that allowed for team communication, channels, file sharing, etc --inside it's own app. Like Slack.

Great office solution for our small team

Overall I'm happy with the software. It's easy for the team to use, document sharing and working on the same document together is very simple. I finally feel Google Chat is at least somewhat more comparable to Slack, but since it was so far behind when we started using G Suite, we're now stuck with Slack and switch is just too much of a hurdle. So if you're starting out with G Suite now you might be able to save yourself the money on a separate Slack subscription as well.

Pros

G Suite has been very easy for our small team to use. The web apps are user friendly and easy for anyone to quickly get up to speed on. Google Meet is also very easy to use for team or external video meetings, and offers dial-in numbers for participants if some are on slow internet connections or don't have a microphone setup for their computer. The video quality has improved dramatically since I first started using it back in 2018. It works in the browser with no additional software installation needed, so it's quick and easy to use each time.

Cons

Gmail needs an overhaul, especially the settings area to make it more user-friendly. Setting up custom keyboard shortcuts to navigate through Gmail is cumbersome and there doesn't appear to be a way to map a shortcut to "Display images" in an e-mail if you have loading of these turned off by default, which I do for privacy and tracking reasons. For Google Drive it doesn't seem to save the sort order setting for each folder and there's no way to get this to save. Some folders where I prefer to sort the file order by Last Modified so recent ones show at the top then impact the sort order of other folders where I'd prefer it stay in alphabetical order. Google Meet needs to add more features similar to other video conferencing solutions to stay competitive.

G Suite - The Enterprise app suite from Google themselves

Very positive as the entire thing has little to no learning curve for the entire team. One of the fastest and the easiest adoptions we have had.

Pros

Google stability and integration with the entire Google ecosystem, hands down. To elaborate: 1) G Suite enables really easy user management with batch operations 2) User activation/deactivation, partial access to services, etc is very smooth and intuitive 3) Intergration with all of Google's services is the biggest takeaway 4) Pricing is pretty well suited for companies of all kinds

Cons

A few cons (I maybe nitpicking here): 1) The payment methods aren't really exhaustive 2) Hangouts chat isn't as easy and well rounded as Slack

Pros

Gmail is the best and for that it's great, price is good, getting started is easy. Calendar is also good, as well as sheets and docs for their collaboration.

Cons

but the contacts are weak, the admin UI is so so and support is not amazing.We still use Slack because chat and mail groups cannot compare.

Cross Department Collaboration Must Have

Quick easy consolidated platform for collaboration and work storage.

Pros

The system is extremely intuitive and easy to pick up, everybody can access Slack from multiple different devices and collaborate with extreme ease. The file management system is super easy to use and understand, just drag and drop your file and everybody has it instantly. Slack also has a myriad of different bots to help, like to do bots and timers to some very complex bots that are like programs on their own.

Cons

Single Sign On setups have to be manually setup or created by workspace owners, it would be good to have Google integration from the outset to jump straight into a workspace.

Pros

Channel Feature is what I like the most about Slack. It helps me organize my team as I can create multiple channels for different sections and projects inside the company.

Cons

only cons of this product is the workspace itself, It is a good and very convenient platform to use for work and company management but in workspace it lacks the actual feature like dropbox, google drive and notion have. Though you can add your own website to Slack as an extension for your workspace, having a workspace, not just channels or room to communicate, will be more useful to the users.

Overall, it's great for business purposes. I personally prefer other methods like GroupMe or Google hangouts, but it's good for a workspace.

Pros

It's great for collaboration among different teams. It's a good replacement for email, chat, and meetings that don't need to take place.

Cons

I tried to set up a channel once, and I was completely lost. It takes quite some time to get used to the program if you aren't familiar with it.

I LOVE SLACK

Love it!

Pros

(Sadly) I use Slack more than I do text messaging or WhatsApp. It's used for efficient work communication but also water cooler talk and -- hey -- it's actually fun to use. :) Slack usually makes me happy.

Cons

I've integrated our Slack workspace with Google Docs and I receive a notification for every suggestion or comment. Wish I could silence just those notifications.
