What is Hornetdrive?
Hornetdrive is a file hosting service based in Hanover with servers in Germany. This service focuses on security to prevent both data loss and unauthorized access. Safeguarding measures include redundant data storage across several servers, which means data center losses are almost eliminated.
Hornetdrive also supports the synchronization of files via the cloud. Due to automatic backups, data remains available both locally and in the cloud. Hornetdrive protects against data loss, allowing the server to create new versions instead of overwriting old file versions. Therefore, in the event of an error, users can always revert to an older version. To protect against unauthorized viewing, all data is encrypted by AES 256 protocols. The encryption takes place before the client-server uploads the data.
Account owners can invite people to share file hosting facility. If the person is not yet a user of Hornetdrive, the system automatically creates a guest account. If the new user accepts the invitation, they then have access to their data files. The account owner always determines what access rights a guest should have.
