SmartPOS by Petrosoft is a point of sale software designed to help convenience stores, gas stations, and foodservice outlets manage departmental sales, inventory levels, and product prices, among other operations. Deployed as a plug-and-play solution, it comprises several components including a POS terminal, 2D scanner, receipt printer, cash drawer, and PIN pad.

Key features of SmartPOS are promotions management, cash handling, general ledger, theft detection, tagging, and item history. Supervisors can configure localization and internationalization metrics for selling products in multiple currencies and languages in synchronization with specific tax requirements. The application lets administrators maintain a digital journal and use event tagging and bookmarking capabilities to track risk events including refunds, cancels, and no sale. It also offers a video module, which enables store owners to track cashier’s activities and added transactions on the screen.

SmartPOS integrates with in-house applications, Direct Connect and Qwickserve, and third-party providers such as Verifone, Wayne, NCR, Gilbarco, Bulloch, and more. It also allows users to configure age-restricted validations, department-specific time restrictions, price checks, role-based access rights, and more.
