Survey monkey makes creating and sending surveys out easy. Not only that, but when the responses come back, Survey Monkey gives a great analysis of the data that it sends back and that really makes this tool great.
The surveys are not as personalised and as inviting as Typeform

It was a great tool, but we found Typeform to be better for this particular use case
It is a simple and easy to set up tool that provides all basic features that one would require to do a simplistic user survey. Apart from that, there is not much that is great that makes you scream out.
It integrates well with most services, but there is something about the interface that just does not make you feel too comfortable

I like the simplicity of SurveyMonkey, no fuss, intuitive set up.
The look of the survey forms is not as attractive as some other competitors like Typeform.

Collecting customer feedback, or employee surveys is quick and easy and sharing the insights with the team is also a snap. It does exactly what it needs to.
We use survey monkey a few times a year. Their reporting functions are great and make it easy to share the results with the team. Building and sharing the surveys is simple as well. Really, it does everything that is says on the tin and doesn't make it too complicated. Well worth using if you need to collect some feedback
Visually, it could be nicer. When looking at it next to Typeform, for instance, it starts to look a little outdated.

I loved how user friendly it was and how easy it was to share results.
Wish we could integrate it with Slack, right now we integrate Typeform with Slack so we can see results in real time.

Over-all I really enjoy SurveyMonkey if I just need a quick basic survey platform.
We used the basic (free option) to send out a survey to our Partners. Creating the survey and collecting the data was very easy. Creating a Survey was very self-explanatory and submitted surveys allowed me to review the data in summary or individual answers.
You couldn't even add a logo to free option - competitors such as Typeform allow you to create beautiful surveys in their comparable version.

It is the dominant online survey software for a reason. It has excellent features and integrations but also security and controls for enterprise customers. With GDPR this is one of the main deciding factors to buy software today as you do not want to risk any fines.
Maybe the interface and how the data is being collected could be improved, i.e. something more interactive as is the case with Typeform or chatbots.

This software offers many useful features that others lack. One of the best is the fact that you can publish a given survey on different approaches such as e-mail or Facebook at the same time and then be able to compare the results obtained from one line and the other. In my opinion, one of the best things that the tool offers is that you can also export the results as Excel files, a feature that comes really helpful when you are using multiple channels and wish to compare their outputs. They can also offer, as an extra service, the possibility to specify a target for your surveys if you don't have the necessary data. They are able to provide this for you so you can target a given audience of your convenience. You pay this service on a completed survey basis.
On the downside, the interface is not very user-friendly and there are other tools out there, such as Typeform, that have a more intuitive interface.

Easy to use and deploy with very little expense and learning curve.
Easy to setup and customize. Nothing flashy here, but also not expensive. You know what you are paying for. This can help you get results quickly.
Not a lot of design functioality. Not a pretty product compared to a TypeForm. Their "conditional logic" is only screen based, which can be clunky to setup.

It makes surveys easy, quick and collaborative across multiple users
SurveyMonkey is the most versatile tool to distribute, collect and analyze survey data from multiple users. It lets users create their own custom surveys, it has pre-defined templates for most of the commonly used surveys, the User Interface is easy and intuitive and requires minimal training to begin with. It has recently also started including audio.video questions. The reports can be created quickly and efficiently from the survey data.
while Surveymonkey is a great tool, it;s competitors are better in some of the aspects. Like Qualtrics provides powerful analysis capabilities; Typeform has more visually appealing designs.

As a Service Designer, conducting user research is a key part of my job, and this includes surveys. I haven't yet settled on one provider I prefer to do this.
Easy to set up surveys, share and get feedback, and then extract the results at the end to manage as I please.
On the survey taker end, even though there is some personalization of the interface available, it looks a bit outdated (compared to TypeForm, which is a little more fun)

I have used this several times and really good for getting survey done when your team is not at one place. Advantage over paper survey, it helps to get the analysis done automatically and get the graph which you are looking for.
it is not mobile friendly. Better options are available now for online survey like google form , TypeForm etc. also GUI is not good as compare to other options available.

- It provides additional features on my go to surveying software of choice. - Its recent redesign makes it look a lot nicer and has an overall modern feel to it - Most people I work with have either used it to take a survey or send one out, so it's not a foreign tool. That legitimizes it.
- Though it looks good, I still think that Typeform is a nicer looking software and would lean towards using that if I were to pay for a form service.

Overall, I genuinely think there is other software out there that provides better and easier experience.
Easy to make a quick survey and easy for a user on the experience end to fill questions out and put answers in.
Software is clunky, not as functional as a program like Typeform. You can't customise the design as much, which is a flaw when wanting to personalise the marketing experience.

Great for analyzing people's responses with a powerful dashboard. It's my second favourite.
It's got some great features, all sorts of kind of questions, a nice UI and great result analysis tools. Way better than Google Forms, as it's more customizable.
The UI is nice but could be better (and perhaps more customizable); perhaps they could learn a bit from Typeform. Also, I honestly think it's a bit too pricey.

It's a trusted, long-time veteran of this space, designing a survey on this site is intuitive and straightforward. Offers useful features like logic for more complex questionnaires. Complex enough to handle both student projects and more complicated corporate survey efforts.
If you need mobile-friendly forms (i.e. if you expect participants to mostly complete the form via mobile device), I would be tempted to use a specialty platform like Typeform instead.

Survey data to get feedback on events, products, and services.
Has been around for a long time, used to be the only real survey tool.
It's just outdated - especially for the free version. When you look at a competitor like Typeform, the UX is like decades apart... and SurveyMonkey links in emails often equal spam boxes.

As a communications professional, Survey Monkey has come in handy many times for sourcing feedback and input from my team and colleagues. It allows you to build relatively complex surveys that skip time consuming conversations and meetings, and lets people feel involved in projects via feedback surveys.
Survey monkey makes it quick and relatively easy to collect info from the people in your organization, and your wider supporters. Compared to some of the other options out there, survey monkey has more features readily available, and at lower price points. This allows you to make some more logically complex surveys, which can be useful in collecting more accurate information.
Compared to other options (like Typeform) Survey Monkey really lags behind in the visual design department. With the proliferation of things like Canva, Typeform, SquareSpace, etc - services that put aesthetics at the forefront - there's really no excuse to not have a greater focus on how the surveys look. It's not a huge drawback, because the data collection is good, but from a user experience side the visuals just aren't as nice as other options.

Overall this is a great product and the easiest and most intuitive to use on the market. Although it may be the easiest, it may not be the best. Better end user experience TypeForm. Better ease of use and analytics: SurveyMonkey.
So easy to use, and track results. Create a survey in a matter of minutes and get informative insights from those who complete the survey. The system is well organized and analytics are easy to find and analyze.
Not as engaging user experience as some others on the market (TypeForm). Customers who fill out a lot of the same survey may be turned off by a lack of creativity SurveyMonkey offers.

I used Survey Monkey to survey our top users on 1) the main benefit they got from our product 2) what would make it indispensible and 3) what they disliked in an effort to better understand what we should be focusing on + emphasizing in our marketing copy.
I liked that I could tag answers to different questions and the charts for the quantitative questions. I used tags to let me know which questions I had to follow up with users on, and so when I went user by user, I knew how many and which questions to follow up on.
It was frustrating when I was making edits to questions that I had to click a "Save" button afterwards. From my experience using Typeform prior, I didn't have to do this. So I found myself constantly forgetting to save changes.

SurveyMonkey provides businesses with everything I need to collect data from customers and leads, with an industry-leading number of integrations and a well-designed dashboard.
Survey Monkey's user interface is a model of transparency and ease of use. The dashboard incorporates onboarding, knowledge sharing, and easy access to user surveys. It looks good; it works well. I found the HootSuite integration to be particularly helpful and interesting.
SurveyMonkey seems to be missing an opportunity here by not offering conversational forms and competing directly with TypeForm. The free plan is kind of useless, especially compared to Google Forms. Unlimited surveys don't mean much if you can't do anything with the data.

We use this and it is affordable for our company and achieves our survey-taking goals!
SurveyMonkey was the best of its kind from the beginning and it has continuously grown over the years. I have used this software for many years (and even trained people on how to use it) and it has stayed ahead of the survey game for a very long time. I think it's main competitor is TypeForm right now and it is doing a great job.
I think the creation or "design" area of the interface has become a bit clunky while it tries to anticipate what kind of question you are choosing, but that is pretty minor. I do miss the old over-simplified interface with three sections - DESIGN, COLLECT, and SHARE. (Or something like that!) It's a little less obvious at a glance, but still overall a very easy software.

Solid. Have looked at switching to SurveyMonkey etc but it seems like not enough benefit or savings to switch.
Customers / respondents seem to like design that works well for mobile users. Clean design. Pretty intuitive.
Pricing tiers are annoying - features that should be included in a $400 tool always seem to be one pricing tier higher. Also, slow to save changes compared to other tools (like Google Docs, etc)

Overall, Typeform is easy to use and create beautiful looking surveys.
Typeform is great for making surveys look more appealing. It's easy to build surveys and make them look better than simple interfaces like Surveymonkey or Surveygizmo.
Typeform is great, but it is not right for market research. There is not a big selection of question types that are typically used in research.

For certain business uses, Typeform works quite well. However, it can't do everything.
It's a breeze setting up surveys through typeform. The design is beautiful - deeply intuitive and natural. It's a pleasure to use.
There are certain question configurations, like ranked choice, that are very difficult if not impossible to set up in a single question, as in Google Forms or Surveymonkey.

I love typeform because I haven't found a functional and embeddable(?) survey or form tool to use outside of SurveyMonkey. It's pretty straightforward to use and build forms/surveys.
Typeform was fairly easy to use, but accessing analytics/results at the end is a little hard to find. Once you do tho, it's never a problem.

Was really good and I will continue using it
Really powerful free tool to do surveys. Very intuitive with a lot of different question formats to adapt and also the possibility to have different ways depending on previous answers or to add imagery to the questions.
I really miss the functionality that surveymonkey has to be able to send the poll to a certain demographics to gather insights quickly if you don't have an email list or visitors etc

It helped us make use of surveys, which other tools weren't capable of.
Typeform can be used in various ways, but I mostly use it as a survey tool. What's amazing about the survey tool is that it allows to save the data from the surveyed person as an "attribute", which then can be exported via Zapier to other tools, such as DMPs. Once the survey data is saved in a DMP it can then be further used to re-target or for other purposes.
Overall pretty intuitive, but design templates lack in my opinion. More templates would allow to become more mass appeal of this product. Surveymonkey and others still are more basic tools, but therefore attract a bigger audience.

Typeform is a breath of fresh air compared to other survey tools like SurveyMonkey or Google Surveys. It's so simple to set up a survey, and the user experience is so much better than other tools. We found our conversion rates (# of competed surveys) skyrocketed when we switched to Typeform.
The only con I've found is that you don't have a ton of options for things like embedding a survey into a page or email. If you have some basic developer skills though you can manage.

Typeform made forms sexy. Users frequently share how much they like the experience of filling out a form made in Typeform.
Typeform is stupidly expensive for what it does. Typeform's USP is how sexy it is, and how easy it is for users to submit content. Well, it's also easy to imitate. SurveyMonkey can do what Typeform does, has a ton more features -- and it's significantly cheaper to boot.

We can create a more interactive experience for our site visitors and gather information with ease.
Typeform is very, very easy to use. We don't need help from the design team to make good-looking surveys and forms. I like that we can embed the tool right into our existing landing pages, rather than sending them to an external site so we can control the user experience 100%. I also really like the personalized aspect of it, where we can pull in the user's answers for later questions - that is something that we've found lacking in other, more expensive software systems of a similar type. And it's very cost-effective which is the cherry on top.
I don't love the 'results' view. I would really like to see more data analysis features/aggregated results rather than having them all listed individually. There is the option to export to Excel and do it yourself, but I'd really be happiest to have analytics tools (like in SurveyMonkey) right in the browser and easily usable/accessible.

Very easy to use and engaging and customisable. The analytics could be better for the basic subscription, but overall very good.
Of all the new software I started using all at once, this was the simplest and easiest and it has a good help resource for more complex things. Equally importantly, it has really engaging, pretty, tailored designs, where you can include your own photos/images or free stock images or videos, as well as answers to previous questions to make form-filling a friendly experience. Also integrates with lots of other software.
You don't get to see partial responses like I used to get with SurveyMonkey and the analytics about where you lost people is only available at the Plus level not the Basic one, which wasn't especially cheap in the first place. But it is scaleable, sop the more customers it helps you attract, the more features you can afford to pay for.

* Typeform forms are SO. FAST. to create. * The ability to personalize forms. Collect info like user name, then use that same information later on in the form. * Logic and branching. * We've used Typeform to create light surveys -- while the analytic tools aren't nearly as robust as, say, SurveyMonkey or Qualtrics, it does provide for a smooth, enjoyable experience for those answering the questions. * We haven't used this feature yet, but the ability to embed a rating-scale question right into an email is pretty sweet. * The graphical display of answers to questions is very useful. We've used this feature to create instant polls and it's worked like a charm.
* It's always very easy to tell when I'm using a form that was created with Typeform. More visual customization options, please! * I wish the calculator function was a little more robust.

I had been a SurveyMonkey user, but I happily made the switch to Typefrom when I saw its free version offers no restrictions. Plus, you can design really nice-looking forms with it! And there are other small things that make the difference. For example, whereas the end screen of forms made in SM is a hard selling page for them (this annoyed me a lot), in Typeform they're fully customizable (colors, text, images, social icons... and even a CTA button whose text and hyperlink you can edit). The forms you build do have have some "powered by" branding, but it's MUCH more subtle.
Design & branding flexibility, mobile experience, free plan is unlimited
Multiple choice questions options - you can set "choose as many as you want" or just "choose just one option" but you can't set "choose X options". They'll fix this soon though (the founder himself answered to my support ticket, how awesome is that?)
It's awesome to know you're loving Typeform, Enrique! :) We expect to address that in the coming weeks, stay tuned...

Typeform don't make it obvious, but they do NOT store partial or incomplete results. In my survey over 120 people started the survey, only 55 completed it. Partial responses would still have been hugely valuable to me, but they're not available with Typeform. They ARE available with SurveyMonkey. I wrote to TypeForm with feedback. Their response "About the issue with not-saved responses, it's the kind of confusion we try to avoid, asking users to test carefully their typeforms before using them..... we are not looking to implement this feature in the near future" So a warning to people: If any response (partial or full) is valuable to you in a survey, please be aware that TypeForm doesn't store the results until the final page where the person clicks "Submit".
Beautiful looking surveys, easy to setup, fantastic analysis tools.
Doesn't save partial responses. Some concern, as 3 seperate people reported not being able to submit at the end.
Hi there, Thank you for your feedback. There is an issue around the legality (and morality) about storing answers a respondent gives before submitting. In paginated surveys such as those built with SM, the respondent needs to click on a "Next" button to go to the next page of questions. And in case the survey only has one page and the respondent does not click "Done", SM does not save the answers...
