Q. What is ScraperAPI used for?
ScraperAPI web-scraping tool is software with which web content can be scraped and further processed using an API call. Requests up to 2 MB are supported – this includes HTML content, PDF files, documents, and images. ScraperAPI has the capacity to scrape protected web content, including security mechanisms such as CAPTCHA. In addition, ScraperAPI is suitable for proxies and websites which work with a CDN in the background. This is achieved via the rotating proxy solution in ScraperAPI and its integrated anti-bot bypasses. An API request to ScraperAPI can be initiated in three ways: via the available API endpoint, by using one of the available SDKs, or by using ScraperAPI’s proxy port. Authorization takes place via API keys. Advanced functions such as rendering of Javascript, custom headers, session parameters, and the setting of geographical locations are also available. There are two modes in which API calls can be made: the API mode and the proxy mode. Programming knowledge is required to initiate API requests via ScraperAPI. Python, PHP, Java, and Node, as well as Bash and Ruby, are all supported. ScraperAPI is designed for developers and companies who need to search several millions of websites a month. The software is scalable, so the program can be adapted to the technical requirements of each company.
