What is Amber-JCS?
Amber-JCS is a UK job costing system for small and medium-sized surveyors and consulting engineers.
It's suitable for those service companies which need to track costs on their projects, and/or see job profitability and/or fully invoice their clients.
The core system covers timesheets, expenses, purchases, invoicing and reporting while other features if required include quotes, contact management, and email filing.
Optionally, Amber-JCS can link to Accounting systems such as Sage, and to Microsoft Outlook.
The core process is as follows:-
Enter your timesheets (or expenses) against a job and job task (E.g. Job '1010' for Job Task 'Survey'). At the end of a period, generate a draft sales invoice for that job, from the new timesheets. Overwrite the calculated fee with a fixed fee if required, allocate the next invoice number, and send the invoice. The Send option will pop up an Outlook email using a template message, and the pdf invoice will be attached.
