Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) is a firewall and network security platform, designed to help enterprises provide secure access to network resources and data centers of all sizes.
The application offers unified communications, VPN, and IPS capabilities and enables IT teams to enhance capacity and performance through multi-site and multi-node clustering. It provides collaboration between physical and virtual devices and facilitates dynamic routing and site-to-site VPN on a per-context basis. It supports suite-B set of cryptographic algorithms which includes elliptical curve, SHA-2 and IPSecv3 features. With ASA’s multi context capability, firewalls can maintain a routing table for static and dynamic routes, mix and match routing protocols, and allocate VPN resources.
Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance integrates with applications including Cisco Cloud Web Security, Cisco Identity Services Engine, and Cisco Intrusion Prevention System (IPS). Its clientless VPN enhancements enables users to configure a clientless portal for single sign-on, access shared files and TCP/IP applications using Java plug-ins and provides various standardized templates.
