Pros
We have been using Watchguard for 15+ years with excellent results and no major issues. It work like a charm and capable of handling most of the requirements of a network.
I love to work with Watchguard. The products are top of the line and the only solution we offer our clients.
The expansive feature set at a very competitive price makes the Firebox a really attractive option. The ease of deployment and management is, I believe second to none.
Cons
Basic UTM with Poor Manufacturers Support & Poor Reliability.
Configuration is a bit difficult. An example of this is connecting to one of the four available ethernet connections.
I really don't have any cons for Watchguard other than it can be hard to configure all the features without their support team.

I Trust WatchGuard Firefox

Reviewed a year ago

After using it for 11 years, I cannot be happier than I am with WatchGuard Firebox. I cannot praise the product enough.

Pros

Choosing the right model is easy when comparing datasheets. Choosing from simple subscription options with bundled solutions makes the choices easy offering great protection at a fraction of competitors. The built in and easy to setup VPN, along with Site to Site VPN's, and a basket full of security options makes the choice clear.

Cons

There was a bit of a learning curve in the beginning when I started using Firebox devices in 2012. Taking WatchGuard training and becoming certified helped tremendously with learning how to take full advantage of the fireboxes capabilities.

Watch my guard!

Reviewed a year ago

Seamless - easy to use - but would like to see watchguard allow a Palo Alto like UI. Web UI seems outdated.

Pros

IPS / VPN / Site to Site Tunneling (BOPVPN) / Mix routing mode

Cons

The firewall clustering deployment was my least favourite. I also don't understand why the Geolocations DB is outsourced to another company who contains incorrect IPs of geolocations. For example I had attempts from Nigeria make into my on-premise environment because the Geolocation DB provider failed to identify the ip from the correct geo location.

Simple, does what it needs to.

Reviewed a month ago

I have to look for settings and figure out wording compared to other systems.

Pros

It works, does what it is suppose to. Not a lot of graphics, simple text interface.

Cons

After using: SonicWall, Fortinet, Meraki I found the web interface lacking and a little hard to navigate.
