FreshBooks combined with other applications is a great tool. In any case, if you want to create invoices and send it in a split second and then track and monitor its progress, I recommend FreshBooks.

I've been using it for two and a half years.

Pros

I am a small business, so this works for me. If you are a small business, or 1099'r, this is the best for invoicing and determining your P&L with ease, while tracking your expenditures. It's simple, it's cheap.

Cons

I love everything about Freshbooks. Plus, it integrates with tons of things, including accounting software like Gusto. I don't dislike a thing.

Pros

FreshBooks provides may integration options such as Gusto to elaborate tracking payrolls. Moreover, it makes accounting operations comfortable from invoicing to the automatic reporting.

Cons

The application should be more flexible as fees must be paid even if you don't use all the features. Also for the large quantities of data, it crashes from time to time.

Saves time invoicing and following up with clients. Know the status of our accounts receivable at a glance. Track expenses easily!

Pros

We've used Freshbooks for over 2 years now. Simple to invoice, and easy to view expenses. We can see when our clients view the invoices, and even accept credit card payments online. When tax season comes along, we can generate all the reports out accountant needs.

Cons

We've had trouble importing invoices from our contractors who use Freshbooks. Also, we run into duplicate expenses when connecting to Gusto, which require manual modification. Better duplicate than missing!

Good for time tracking and invoicing; barely functional for accounting

The original version of FreshBooks, which we started using in 2014, was great for time tracking and invoicing. Unfortunately, they decided to build a completely new web application to add accounting features. We migrated to the new version about two years ago, and it did not go well. The new version didn't add many useful features, and the time tracking app got worse (see above). We decided to try the accounting feature this year (2019) because Xero started getting more expensive and lost its payroll feature. We have found the FreshBooks accounting features to be barely usable, and we're struggling to find an accountant that will support FreshBooks.

Pros

FreshBooks is good for freelancers or service-based small businesses that need to track time spend on client projects, and report the time on invoices. It's also good for tracking basic expenses, whether they are allocated to the business, or passed on to clients. The reporting features are also useful. The payroll integration with Gusto is a simple and affordable way to run payroll for a small business.

Cons

The mobile app for time tracking became so buggy that I had to stop using it; it would frequently lose track of the time if I paused the timer. They also added a "feature" that creates a new line item on the invoice every time you pause the timer, which really clutters up the invoice. I now use a separate tracking app and manually enter my time. The accounting features are barely adequate, and the...

I love FreshBooks!!!!

All of my bookkeeping is done without a bookkeeper! What's better than that? I also like that I can upload expense receipts on the go from my phone so I don't forget or have to carry them around with me.

Pros

It is very user friendly- you don't need to be a numbers person to use it correctly. This product was a game changer for my company. It helped us to get organized and to manage things like expenses and client invoices in a way that saved us time and frustration. Plus you can customize things with branding and color so they "look" like your company. My newest favorite thing is that my payroll software ( Gusto!) links up to FreshBooks so my payroll and taxes are all itemized in my expenses. I can give my accountant access and my end of the year taxes are done and done. BOOM.

Some of the biggest reasons we chose Freshbooks over other software: *Incredibly smooth and easy to use interface *Ability to brand your own in colors as well as add your logo *Each customer can be assigned their own billing portal login and you can have multiple clients under one company but each have different username *Utilizes Braintree payments (our primary merchant processor) *Integrates with Google Apps and Gusto HQ *Flat rate for up to 5 users, we currently use the Might Oak Plan *Team tracking and hour logging for projects (huge deal since we work with contractors and they also have a free contractor add on option) *Mobile App is killer - I pop off invoices like it's nobody's business :)

Cons

*Reporting could be improved *Needs better reconciliation in terms of balances. Gusto makes payroll stupid easy. Auto syncing data with FreshBooks is the icing on the cake.

Pros

I love how I can set it and forget it. Running payroll takes a couple of minutes and data is instantly synced to my FreshBooks account. Filing is handled automatically, so I don't have to worry about a thing.

Cons

Pricing has gradually increased since we started using Gusto about a year and a half ago. It would be nice if their were different tiers to choose from.
