Pros

It's a user friendly service with great customer care, wonderful service if u have a small business.
Fields to fill and perfectly links the data from one end like ap and AR to the bank reconciliation. Great reports on transactions for the month or period if interest.
We love that it helps us streamline efforts, is easy to use, and is easy to train others on. QuickBooks Online has definitely been one of the best technology pieces of our administration.

Pros

Our overall experience with Realm has been great, we truly enjoy using this product; our senior members love using the Realm app for their giving and enjoy the accounting module.
Probably the best part might be the database end. It's pretty good at keeping all the information for our people, and creates a nice directory.
The directory is helpful, and the customer support is good. My favorite part about Realm is the annual conference.

Cons

This is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable from the company that is supposed to have your books.
The problem is that doing your own taxes online becomes risky the more you have to account for.
Other than tracking my expenditures, the whole system is a pain. Error messages constantly received because "there's a message from your bank" bla bla bla.

Cons

As a former IT/programmer this software is the worst... very frustrating to use... slow.
I am constantly calling Realm to see if there is a solution to one problem or another, and every time I am basically told "we don't do that" and "we have no plans to do that.
Sometimes confusing for users when it comes to privacy management and notifications.

It’s easy to use and learn. Love the interface with our website for payment processing.

Cons

Difficult to get parishioners to use online although online payments have been better since COVID. Can’t always find or create reports.

This has been the most frustrating (and expensive) software that anyone could purchase. (And I have used more than the average person). It doesn't seem to automatically do anything, causing several issues. It has issues, where you can even email to the addresses listed as a group. To type the email, and system issues, causing a 2 min email to take an hour. Someone emailed to me twice and went to spam causing me to be blocked. I can go on and on. It should be free!

Pros

Nothing -This has been the most frustrating (and expensive) software that anyone could purchase

Cons

Every area has issues. Maybe the pay online works ok.

Communication Help, Membership tracking, Contribution tracking, and Online Donations

Pros

Some of the features I appreciate most is the user-friendly tips and cues for administrators and users alike. I appreciate the fact that this software is geared toward church environments and is obviously designed with that in mind. The customer support has ALWAYS been helpful and pleasant, no matter the question.

Cons

This is a bit of a learning curve, and there really is no short-cut to cleaning up databases that have long been neglected.

Pros

The basic use is much easier to engage people. We can get staff using it. This tool has both sides of financial record keeping!

Cons

the email tool is too limited. We can't make it look any better, it doesn't keep a record of what is sent. The custom queries are still difficult for staff to understand and do on their own.

Pros

Many features for group management, communication, online directory

Cons

Realm has a *very* tight browser restriction. For example, on Firefox it only supports the current and second most recent releases. If one has an older version of a browser that can't use the system. I have a member of my church who doesn't own a computer but uses one at work. Her work system is "locked down" so she cannot update her browser. The value of Realm is when everyone in the church uses it, because of this restriction our utility is severely compromised. I can't recommend Realm.

Realm has many great options and will likely continue to improve. As the software is starting, though, it still leaves much to be desired in the actually application of the product and ease of use.

Pros

Realm has all the features you could want. It would be excellent for one starting out with no other database/software in place. It has scheduling, giving, bookkeeping, and more. Really a great product.

Cons

It is really expensive and you cannot transfer a lot from a current database. If you currently use Quickbooks, you cannot transfer any of that data over. Very frustrating to have to start from scratch.

It is a love hate relationship. As a smaller church without professional tech help and only one person to implement it has been a struggle to move forward. The guides sometimes are not updated to reflect recent changes or stop short of explaining how feature will work ie. What I need to do to get desired outcome. It is a trial and error. The videos sometimes just show features but don’t go into detail if you want this outcome do this kind of instruction. Features work differently in Realm as the admin than a regular congregant on connect - it becomes confusing trying to learn two different ways of accessing what I need and communicating that to congregants.

Pros

The online database and connectivity with congregants who will use the app.

Cons

Congregants who refuse to use the app. Struggle learning the system from admin side - congregants complain not user friendly. People still having glitches with sign in so they have abandoned using it. To meaning settings required to opt in to notifications.

Pros

Our congregation loves the online giving feature, the directory and the communication tools.

Cons

Not all of our congregation members were able to find the communications easy to use.

The most thing I like in Realm Accounting is its make me save a lot of time doing other tasks. the reports are great, the live cycle business is good in this software.

Realm has simplified my job and allowed me to be more mobile.

I don't have to worry about running up to the church office to check information, I can access the database from home! I can allow other staff members to access individual areas of the program while keeping the financials confidential.

Pros

REALM offers easy online access from anywhere as well as the ability for church members to give online and view their contributions. Membership is easy to update and group attendance is much easier to track through the program.

Cons

We're still waiting for payroll to be included so that we can use REALM exclusively, without having to use ACS financials as well.

Great being able to create Pathways and Groups. We've only been using Realm @6 months, so we are still learning everything we can use it for.

Pros

I like the portability of Realm, being able to access it online or on my phone.

Cons

Some of the reports I need to run don't allow me to customize them as well as I need. For example, I can choose "all" or "individual" funds when creating a Giving report. I need to be able to choose several funds when running a report for my Missions Summary each month. So I have to go in and choose "all" and then subtract the funds I don't want to include.

Pros

The integrated contributions and accounting, Canadian tax receipt form available, pictures attached to data - makes it more personal.

Cons

Online giving not yet available in Canada... Sometimes there are glitches - duplicate profiles, missing profiles - they seem to get resolved if we wait a day or two.

Early on it was difficult for us to figure things out. Once we got the hang of it and how to follow updates we were able to adjust quicker.

Ease of creating groups.

Pros

Contributions and ability for contributors to view and pull their own statements. Also, love having an online directory where members can add their own pictures.

Cons

Inability to add graphics to face of emails. Really want to transition financials over but will not do this until payroll module is complete and fully functional.

Pros

We appreciate the integration with online giving and book keeping. This system makes donor management quite simple and end of year giving receipts are a breeze.

Cons

The administration is a little clunky, difficult to negotiate different groups. While it has huge potential, getting things off the ground can be a intimidating.

Realm is easy to use and provides a lot of functionality.

We were able to consolidate member information, financial information, and other important church data into a single system.

Pros

The Dashboard, the ability to enter and track pledges, and the ability for parishioners to use online giving. I also like the Event and Group functionality.

Cons

I would like to see more features added to Realm Accounting. For example, we really need the ability to download our banking transactions into Realm Accounting.

We are using Realm for both Accounting and the data management of our parish. I've appreciated how user-friendly it is to use and I especially appreciate that I can call and get a quick answer if I'm stumped when trying to do something. As a Parish Administrator it truly supports my ability to do my job - and I'm grateful for its continued excellence.

Pros

Ease of Use Fabulous support by phone Integrated online giving Continuous build out and enhancement Relevant to our work in the church Extremely beneficial User Conference annually

Cons

Unlike our use of the ACS On Demand software, it doesn't differentiate between pledge payments and general giving when we post the contributions to the GL. This is an enhancement I will be grateful for when and if it is done.

I think the tithing entry is much easier and the screen is so much better to read. I think it is faster to enter data.

Pros

I am looking forward to the contributions for tithing through online giving! That excites me so much. I cannot wait until the day I can eliminate double entries!

Cons

So far I would say the ease of reports is not as easy and/or user friendly as ACS was. I'm sure it just will take time and patience.

Realm is easy to use and has data at my fingertips!

Great support and prompt help. Tons of resources to learn more online. I love having one place to go for everything - check-in, member data-base, directory, giving, registration/events, etc.

Pros

Ease of use. I can add, edit, unactivate, or even delete profiles in seconds. Online giving is the best! Having used other providers, the ability to create separate giving page links, funds, text giving is far superior to any other product I have tried. Plus, it all pulls over into reports got me to look at YTD data in a moment.

Cons

Integration of Pathways. We still struggle with utilizing this tool as it seems cumbersome. And when an event is created in a group, it can't be shared outside that group. I would love group events to show up in "Registrations" with a way to hide repeating events or have repeating events show up as just 1 event with the next one shown. I also would appreciate the ability to delete profiles that gave 7+ years ago. We have no need to keep them. Wish there was a service planning option so we didn't need to use Planning Center anymore!

Everything in one place. Giving, attendance, directory...and all with mobility. Overall, we have been very pleased.

Pros

Generally, the look and feel of the online and mobile experience are modern and nice. The app has been very useful. The financial integrations and features have been flawless.

Cons

Some very basic features have been slow in coming (e.g., allowing public registration for paid events). Also, account management has been challenging at times (e.g., changing account email, uninviting accounts where maybe a family email addressed was used twice for a couple, etc.).

Simplicity, ease of use.

Pros

Easy to use plus great design. I like how we can open it with our mobile platforms. The online and text giving is a great convenience. The member database is also a plus.

Cons

I wish we could customize the reports more. We also cant get the labels formatted using different labels such as Avery or Xerox. We have to output the labels and copy and paste it into a label template with Word. I also wish we can search by using nick names or alias. In our cukture, we have English names and elder or Hmong names as well.
