PLM Integration Framework works only with Engineering Change Management (ECM), the add-in feature available in Dynamics 365 ERP to help manage changes and analyze the impact of those changes on product data (like BOMs, routings, and documentation).

Staging Journal: Provides a staging journal to validate the data from PLM and transform it before processing in the ERP. Automatically approves and activates bill of materials on PLM status change. This ensures data quality and guarantees your data is correctly mapped to the ERP. You are notified if there's a mismatch or error in any product data through an 'error’ notification.
Unified View of Data: Offers a unified view of all product data and product-related processes in a central, digital location.
Data Governance: The PLM-ERP integration solution safeguards engineering data in ERP and prevents deleting or overriding of operational data during any PLM updates through the ‘trigger managed processes.’ The integration recognizes any change within product versions coming from the PLM system. It automatically updates data in the ERP without changing other product fields, thus maintaining data ownership and simplifying product change management.
Automated BOM Transfer: Enables automatic transfer of large BOM into the ERP and manages revisions in engineering change order processes. This reduces errors and delays caused by manual data entry and saves time. Automatically transfers product data such as revision data, multi-level and single-level BOMs, attributes, status information, etc.
ERP data in PLM: Product Logistics Insights enables engineers and designers using the PLM or PDM system to retrieve logistical and operational information residing in the ERP with the click of a button — saving time, training effort, and ERP license costs.
