My Go-To APP for in-person, remote, or hybrid learning!

Reviewed 4 years ago

Quizizz allows me to formatively and summatively assess my students on a regular basis. I am able to upload my own questions and images, set timers or allow for self-paced questions, and provide feedback to students. There are also multiple optoins for how you assess your students, which has been super helpful with the multiple choice, fill in the blank, open response, and other types of responses.

Pros

This is by far the easiest program to use, and I have played around with MANY! Quizizz is so user friendly for both teacher and student and doesn't require us to jump through 700 hoops to get to our quiz. I am easily able to link my students on Google Classroom to Quizizz and set up live games or asynchronous practice. HIGHLY recommend Quizizz over all APPS!

Cons

There were some copyright infringements posted by other teachers, but Quizizz customer service took them down immediately. So, I wouldn't say this is something I dislike, but rather appreciate that they value the integrity of their site and following laws. Super responsive customer service and always super friendly! You don't see that very often anymore. Thank you!

Excellent Review Tool

Reviewed 4 years ago

Quizizz is a very effective and engaging tool for learning that suits all my needs. I absolutely love how easy it is to use and how affordable it is. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, easy, and effective way to liven up the learning environment.

Pros

What I love about Quizizz is how much of an interactive platform it is. It is especially useful during online learning because students are able to create questions themselves based on the presentations they give in class. Other students can then play the game to see how much they have retained from the presentations and teachers are able to see who paid attention and who did not. Other than that, Quizizz is a very user-friendly tool that makes learning extremely fun and it makes the classroom setting more lively because of the increased engagement during lessons. I use Quizizz mostly for reviews before exams and find it effective in refreshing students' memories about what was taught in class.

Cons

There are few cons to be addressed, however, one that I would like to mention is that Quizizz makes it so players are able to be on different questions at the same time. This makes it easy for them to cheat during class reviews because if one person is quicker in answering a question, then they can pass the answer on to someone else who had not gotten to it yet.

Great features but expensive

Reviewed a year ago

It was fantastic until my activities became useless without a paid subscription. I also had to delete several activities recently because it says I need the paid subscription to have them in my library. Once again, another jab to students and educators who can’t afford the paid subscription.

Pros

I loved having my students be able to play games while learning. It was easy to keep track of their progress and they had fun competing against each other

Cons

I used to be able to use the voice feature for free for my students who can’t read yet and created several activities. In the last couple years though I can’t use them without the paid subscription and I don’t even have a budget to use to pay for it.

Perfect for synchronous and a-synchronous teaching arrangements

Reviewed 3 years ago

Excellent. My students wait for the lessons, which include Quizizz. Creating and facilitating quizzes in face-to-face classrooms, via Zoom, or in homework mode in a-synchronous classes is simple.

Pros

I have used Quizizz with students in elementary classes and in higher education. I love the live game which engages all students and adds excitement and a friendly competitive atmosphere to the class. I always set the same game as homework requiring the students to return to the material when they are more focused and calmer. Students can play over and over again until they are happy with their grade - this is motivating and supports learning.

Cons

I am disappointed that task dates are now minimal if you do not pay for the premium version, which is expensive for educators who pay out of their own pocket.

Quizizz - The best tool to gamification

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

I use Quizizz in practically all of my classes and also in activities outside the classroom. It is a fundamental tool to make students learn more in less time and with less effort. Quizizz transforms the student's work into a game and, in this sense, brings the school closer to the preferences of our young people, using the type of language that is familiar to them. There are many other tools that have a similar way of working, and I have already tried some of them, but I believe that Quizizz is the most functional and the one that allows you to get better results. In this sense, I can only recommend Quizizz to all my colleagues and I have done several training actions to publicize the application.

Cons

I don't think Quizizz has any weaknesses, although it can always be improved, as with everything else. I think the introduction of the lessons was an asset, but there are still some small bugs. It would also be interesting if there was a possibility to assign different weights to each of the questions, in order to give more value to the most difficult answers. It will also be very interesting if Quizizz is available in my national language, Portuguese, as there are some fellow teachers who are not very comfortable dealing with foreign languages.

Love it

Reviewed 4 years ago

I will continue to use it as much as I can. It is a great program that I have even done professional development for my school.

Pros

I am a middle school teacher who uses Quizizz weekly. My students love it. It’s colorful, engaging, and my students always look forward to playing it. I use it to gauge how my students are doing in their understanding.

Cons

The cost of the upgrade is a bit of an expense for teachers. Especially since we are partially virtual.

Quizizz Makes Me Happy

Reviewed 4 years ago

I like using quizizz. My students also enjoy the games. It's been a very positive experience. Thank you to the quizizz designers for a wonderful software!

Pros

Quizizz is an excellent tool for teachers to engage students in learning new information and reviewing. It shows students' grades, It's easy to assign the games in Google classroom. The games can be used for formative or secondary summative assessment.

Cons

The only thing I am hoping is that the price for the upgrade could be less. I suggest $50 per year for group users.

One of my favourite apps for online teaching!

Reviewed a year ago

I really liked Quizizz when it was released. There were more options to explore and play with. Now the functions become limited and the price is too expensive. But overall it is a good educational application and I would recommend it to educators and trainers.

Pros

There are numerous quizzes for different subjects available. It is also really easy to customise the existing quiz or create your own quiz. The gamification is the best part as it really motivates learners to participate and engage in the game which is also part of the learning process. Students of all ages love playing on Quizizz. Additionally, I also like its reports and the ability to export the reports.

Cons

Quizizz price is very expensive. And the functions are quite limited for the free version. It would be nice if they offer a more reasonable option for freelancers.

special education high school math instruction

Improved grading and the ability to better monitor student progress. Improved student engagement. Improved student comprehension.

Pros

Easy to develop materials. The ability to teleport in questions from multiple other folks assignments is very time efficient and easy. Search engine is solid. The ability to edit existing materials is easy to use and quick. materials are easy to organize into chapters and folders for future use. Cost is low. I am excited to continue to explore the recent developments for additional lesson instruction.

Cons

I can not think of one significant concern I have encountered in my 1.5 years of using the product.

Versatile and a Good Value App

Reviewed 4 years ago

Quizizz has been a very positive experience, and I and my students prefer it over Kahoot. I use it for both homework and reviews for quizzes and tests.

Pros

The product supports synchronous and asynchronous learning. With the added features, there is a lot more flexibility. Students enjoy the app, so they remain engaged. For math users, most notation is supported. Works seamlessly with Google Classroom. Can I keep going?

Cons

It was nice to have the drop-down CCSS available for tagging questions. Now that seems to be gone. And it would be nice to have a second layer of organization (within the collections) so I could organize a lot better. With so many quizzes per collection, the list gets long.

Great tool for data collection

Reviewed 4 years ago

I love this assessment tool!

Pros

Having my students complete assessments in the form of a game has been a terrific asset in my classroom. The students are engaged in the assignments and are motivated by the friendly competition between their peers.

Cons

The only con that I can think of is that assignments can be re-opened, if your account is upgraded only (which is not very much in cost).

Classroom Teacher Feedback

Reviewed 4 years ago

As a whole, I am very happy with it. As long as no major changes are made to the format nor the price, I will continue to use it on a regular basis.

Pros

Easy to set up questions. I love the teleport option. Adding different question formats is the best addition that you have added to your program.

Cons

The timer option for students is useless. I would like to see the programmers create a way that marks the answer wrong once time has expired.

Great for teaching

Reviewed 4 years ago

I use Quizizz regularly in my class for low stress feedback from the students on how well they are understanding the concepts I am teaching.

Pros

It is very easy to quickly assemble questions, edit existing questions or write original questions to assess students on the fly. During distance learning amid the pandemic Quizizz has also been the most reliable of these types of services in my experience.

Cons

There have been some hiccups with the window of time that quizizz stay open to students despite setting times to open and close some quizizz do not stay open for the entire time set. I would also like more options for feedback to the students (for example I would like them to see which questions they got wrong without giving them the correct answers).

Quizizz Review as a College Instructor

It is a great app to use in boosting learning and increasing student engagement in all tests and examinations.

Pros

The gaming experience, intuitive interface and easy way of creating interactive quizzes what makes this app most recommendable for teachers like me who struggles to boost their students' performance in tests.

Cons

The pricing could be high for those who want to use this app in weekly basis.

Quizizz: enjoy a more dynamic class for a better understanding of any topic

Reviewed a year ago

As a data analyst, which is what I am specializing in, I have used Quizizz for more than a year in its free version and I can only say that this tool is very easy to use and very useful for student assessment, in my case. I used it to give evaluations and to generate evaluations for my students when I replaced a teacher, and I had excellent results. Also, I really liked the ability to assign homework and track student progress through the platform. In conclusion, I will continue using this tool since it is very easy to implement and above all it makes the classes more dynamic and fun without losing the essence of outstanding teaching and learning.

Pros

In fact, I have used it both as a student and as a substitute teacher, so I must say that all the functions of this tool are quite useful and easy to implement, however, what I like the most about the tool is all that it allows for new users try its free version. However, I am sure that in its paid version, which has another point in favor since it is economical, it must be incredible.

Cons

Having used it in its free version, I must admit that it greatly limits the number of participants in a room, something that can be solved. On the other hand, a not very good point is that it requires a good internet so that it does not get stuck.

Overall, it is a great product that students love to use to practice ELA skills. I love that you can find/use other's quizzes instead of just having your own to use. It's also fantastic because you can take something someone else created and tweak it or make it match what you are doing without having to start from scratch.

Pros

Ease of creating practice opportunities that students enjoy Flexible of delivery Ease of usable reports Cost

Cons

It doesn't remember my settings Multiple places to edit a quiz instead of all in one place

Great tool for educators!

Reviewed 4 years ago

Such a life saver in the classroom and especially now during virtual learning. Love that my students at home and in the classroom can both be engaged in the same activity with ease.

Pros

Can create different question kits and add images to questions at no extra cost. Can play live with a full class of students 27+. I love the option of creating my own memes set. As a teacher, I also love the poll, open ended, and check box options allowed.

Cons

No cons. Just wish it had more “gaming” aspects to it to keep students engaged like doubling points for streaks, or freezing/blurring other players’ screens.

I love designing tests with it It is a widely used tool in our institution. Its diversity as an educational tool is a relevant aspect for me because we only use on line tools

Pros

I really love the new teacher/instructor paced function. It allows me to teach while students are playing. I also love that I can create classes and assign quizzes as homework.

Cons

I like quizizz. I did pay $60 and not sure what comes with it. I wish there was a video where I can know what comes with the price. I know I can record but with all this adjusting I am not sure how to do more.

Pros

I like that this software gives students motivation and boosts competition, its exciting to see the pictures when they get a correct answer, the music is appropriate, the themes are great,

Cons

Not being able to post a picture and a recording. Or two pictures at a time. I wanted to do a compare and contrast but I could only upload 1 picture. I was sad.
