Applied Epic has been a strong tool for our agency — it brings client info, policy files, documents, tasks and reporting into one system so things don’t feel scattered.

Even after using daily for over 2 years, There are still so many functions that would probably be useful but i haven had the chance to learn them.

Also, your mail it attached directly into EPIC to attach to a client file, and you don't have to have the paper mail on our desk.

After 25 years in my industry, (Insurance), it is the most user friendly platform I've used.

We sis policy checking, endorsements, reconciliations.

The software requires extensive training just to be able to be used at the most basic level.

Epic is one of the most outdated, clunky, and un-user friendly software systems out there.

The user interface is not very intuitive; when viewing some tabs containing a lot of information, there seems to be a lot of blank space, and instead the system forces users to scroll a very small window to view the contained information (such as commercial occupant units, different insurers on risk).

The accounting function is old dual entry so that report filters have to be carefully selected or used from canned reports then exported to Excel in pieces, then combined for real capture of receivables/ commission data.   

Poorly instructed migration requiring tiered demographics, poor training and user manual requiring numerous updates and rewrites, limited application integration for modern lines, poor download capture with limited data.

You need to do accrual accounting outside the system - making the internal accounting system close to worthless. If you are doing any M&A, you will run into paywall issues - their data upload tool costs more than a new car.

The program is very robust and a great CRM

Many features that were promised are either not available in Canada or simply do not exist.

However, savy users will not drink the cool-aid or say the emperor has on new clothes.   

You should also have a staff of IT professionals on call to sort out the various problems that arise.

We are easily able to get client information and make changes.

It takes some time to learn the system, but the more I use it the more I like it.

My agency has been running with this since I came on board and it has some really great features.

Property and  Casualty Agent for SC

When I was an insurance agent, that program had everything I needed when speaking with my clients.

It is costing our agency over $1,000 per month for the remianed of our contracted term.  

My agency was purchased and I contacted Vertafore, AMS360, to let them know that the new [sensitive content hidden] wanted to use a different software package.  

It's not very customizable and can be painfully slow at times.

Very sad....truly not a company I want to do business with if this is how they are treating their "agency partners".

We switched to another vendor in 2014 due to valuable increased features and price.

Principle

Wasn't easy to work through.   If you didn't have extensive training it was going to take you a while to pick it up.

Some reports do not finalize, which is fine because that is completed in the carrier site after bridging over.
