Our overall experience with WebSelfStorage is a positive. It's a detailed, well thought out program. The format is organized, user friendly, capable for many users with secure, individual passcode protections. It is a multi-facility friendly system, with all the bells and whistles. No daily back-up to worry about. Good quality security features, and can be used from anywhere. We have no problem having up to the minute information and access, at will. Best part, this system has allowed us to manage, and conduct business, from our phone, while on vacation. You are not stuck to one single computer, or flash drive, to access your up-to-the-moment facility activity.
This software has enormous content and it's ease of use is refreshing. Their technical and administrative support is leaps and bounds above any other I have experienced. There aren't many Cons. One item I would like to see changed is related to payment posting. First, you must know, the program is developed in a way for constant accountability. It also makes it difficult for a rouge employee to perform a task which could be seen as dishonest or fraudulent. You do not have the ability to pre-date a payment. I have been very pleased with Web Self Storage. They have made my operating experience really easy. I have a lot of doors I am collecting on and Web Self Storage has made it simple to operate all of it. If I do call them with questions they are very helpful answering any questions that I have.
I am not a technological person. I'm just not into all of that stuff. I am into things that help things run smoother. I learn ways to operate things smoother and then operate them better. WebSelfStorage has helped me do that. The ins and out of all of it are pretty simple once you work with it a little bit. If there is something you are unsure of they have people that can help you operate through it.
I would like a way to work with someone a little more to help me further understand ways that could help me run all of my storage smoother. Now that I've been running it for almost 2 years I would like someone to work with me to help me in ways that I haven't figured out yet on my own. I'm sure this is possible but just haven't talked with anyone about it.

We are canceled our account after only 2 weeks due to a several reasons. To start our bad experience starting off when all of our tenants we getting switched over and logged into the WebSelfStorage program was less than stellar. The tech did not communicate anything very well and seemed rather put out that she had to do anything or answer any of my questions. we generally don't like the fact we had...
There is very little to like about this software. The only advantages I found with it was the price and Uhaul will mail out your letters for the cost of a stamp. There are a few nice reports it can generate and its fairly easy to make a site map of your facility and that's about it.
First off you can only have ONE gate code per customer. so if you have a business that is storing with you and they want to have separate gate codes for each employee you can't or you have to make separate ghost units for every extra gate access code. Nowhere on the tenants account can you view how many days late they are. It only says Delinquent or in Lien. Uhaul should just stick to truck and trailer rental!!!!!!!!!!!!

My overall experience with WebSelfStorage is successful. Any time I need help I know I can call and get an answer. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] helped set up an additional account for my other facility.
Integration worked great with our business. Mainly I like that when I have a question I can call and get assistance. Recently[SENSITIVE CONTENT] was extremely patient and helpful with a concern we had with our business. We needed to separate Web Self Storage from our original one business to now two businesses. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] walked me through the process which helped me be able to assist my customers.
It is really pretty good and works well for us.

You know the old saying "If it aint broke, Don't fix it" ? Well uhaul should have taken that literally!!!
The old webselfstorage version was very user friendly, I loved it! I was excited for the upgrade and new features… that was a bust. The best thing about it was the message board.
Customer service does not exist. If you do get a hold of someone wether through live chat or on the phone they have no idea how to help and just tell you they are working on it. I feel sorry for the techs because they get all of our complaints and can't even fix them. they should have tested this software with some small facilities before forcing the bigger ones into it. Now we have to deal with all...

For the last 8 years it has been one of the worst experiences with a software provider I have ever had in my 45 years of business. Their customer service department is understaffed so response times are poor. They are way behind the technology curve. We have remained with them because we have had a small 34,000 sq. ft. facility but with two more facilities in our plans these guys will soon be in the rear view mirror..a bad experience all the way around.
Finally compatible with Chrome Browser after 8 years of using them and having to use Windows Explorer.
Pretty much everything. The only improvement over the old software is the browser compatability with Chrome, not intuitive, move-ins are twice as slow. There conversion from the old system to the new was an absolute disaster. We sat on a chat session for 4 hours waiting for help so we could move someone in. We have used them for 8 years for the cost which is a third of the competition but you can only put up with mediocrity for so long at any cost, even free! Software runs slow because of the 15,000 outlets using it. Today is the 4th of the month, payments coming in but software has been down all morning. Can't wait to get our new software with StorEdge!

We have been using Web Self Storage for the better part of 7 years. The program has remained the same. What has changed is the service. You can call and ask for help and sit on hold for an hour or more and be charged a dollar a minute, or you can use the on line chat and start out with 20 people in front of you and an hour later be 12th in line. They have outgrown themselves. Until they put on more people that can answer questions, I would not suggest that new users buy into it. It was not like this in years past. If you want to grow a business you must also grow your support staff and Emove missed that memo.

Overall so far it’s been a good experience and everyone has been very helpful along the way.
Like the ability to call someone or online chat with them to help me with issues when they arise and they are always very helpful
Not being able to have full control over how rooms are listed and termed. I would like for my units to be described as temperature controlled rooms instead of climate controlled rooms and that is something that can’t be fixed. I would like to see the site map more user friendly like site links. When you move mouse over top of unit I wish the screen on the right would auto populate the customers info

I've been using WebSelfStorage for 17 months and am not pleased with it. It is far from intuitive and not user friendly. Tech support is good but there are workarounds I have to use to solve certain problems. I have to check some of the results with a calculator to make sure they come out correct and sometimes the totals don't come out correct. The way it lists charges and payments on receipts...

We have used WebSelfStorage for the past 5 - 6 years and have grown with the product including several iterations of the software and several minor (and one major) upgrade. We have found that the support to be great and very helpful. Overall our experience has been a good one.
The software is the backbone of how we run our storage & retail point of sale operation. It is intuitive and helps us operate our entire operation. I like the ease of use, the reporting for storage and the mapping features.
At times it does go down. The retail functionality could be more intuitive regarding the sale of retail merchandise. I feel the retail point of sale functionality and reports tools are very limiting.

I hate webselfstorage. I would never recommend it to anyone.
I hate this software. There is literally nothing I like about it. It is not easy to use. It never works well. IT is never helpful and seldom seems to know what's going on. I've had issues that they've been working on fixing for over a year now.
Does not send reminders and IT has been "working on it" for over a year now. Unable to log into the system for an entire day on the 1st of the month with no email explanation, sat on hold with customer service for 30 minutes before giving up. IT is unable to help figure out why a new lease is generated every single time I take payment on a unit at one location but not the second. Among many other issues.

The classic WSS was by far superior to the "upgrade", which is by far, FAR, the worst software I have used, EVER. I have been in the business sector for over thirty years, and I have used many, many different software systems for private security, medical, and others. WSS rewrite, upgrade, or whatever they will call it next, is the worst software, with the worst customer service that I have ever come across throughout the years.
There are no Pros to this software, customer service, and no way to negatively rate this WSS rewrite upgraded, HORRIFFIC PROGRAM. I honestly can not think of one good thing to say about this "rewrite" upgrade, except, they should have stayed with the original software. But, for the sake of being "trendy" and "looking updated, your business will suffer the consequences of complete failure. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH WEBSELFSTORAGE!
From the time this software upgrade was implemented, it has been a disaster! No words can express my disappointment, frustration and anger with this upgrade with no option to decline. We have lost valuable information, the accounting is off so bad, and has and will cause countless man hours to decipher, because WSS online chat, and the helpline techs all have the same answer,..."I DON'T KNOW, I'LL HAVE TO SEND IT UPSTAIRS TO THE DESIGNER/PROGRAMMERS TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT". This software is a nightmare, not user friendly, and takes four times the effort to perform a task and four times printable! TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. The designer of this software must have gone to "special" school for the I DON'T KNOW.

I have used many Software Programs over the past 30+ years in the storage industry. My first software experience was with DOS based systems. I have used other Web based programs and have felt the pain of there costs and desired a more cost effective management software. I don't require a great deal of interaction between the provider but occasionally need some help. WebSelfStorage, is always been there when we needed help.

I like absolutely nothing about this. The new "upgrade" is a nightmare, Nothing works correctly and I don't believe anyone tested this before it was released! We are the beta testers and they are charging us to use it. I am sick of all the bugs and issues. Believe me nothing works correctly. It is even charging customers wrong. Wish I had changed programs before this upgrade was forced on us.
Absolutely everything is bad. Reports don't print right. The dashboard doesn't let you move in a new customer. You have to search by phone number first to see if they are a repeat customer and then it doesn't find them. This upgrade was a total disaster and it was forced on us.

None, between not even being able to login and not being able to process payments once the system finally logged in, the whole thing has been entirely useless.
If you are interested in purchasing this software, WAIT! The new update that is currently launched is useless. I am hoping the issues will all be fixed soon but until then, do not purchase this software.
I hope every single one of WebSelfStorage's tech team was fired. Nothing seems to work on this new update. Why did I spend the entire day today not even being able to login? How is a business supposed to make money when I can't even run a credit card payment? This is absolutely ridiculous. Fix the WHOLE issue stat or revert back to the old version.

I think this software was designed to make it as difficult and unpredictable as possible. I have experience with other self storage software and am quite tech savvy but WSS said they can report to Quick Books and after hours and hours (mostly on hold) the problems just got ignored.

Easy to access reports and drill down on customer ledger etc.
Does not completely interface with quickbooks used to before new platform. Customer support rude and answers rehearsed like "works as designed". Website advertises works with Quick Books and peachtree accounting software. Many hours now doing journal entries never had to do before.

While I understand there are glitches with new software programs, these glitches are ridiculous! I feel like a guinea pig that was given saccharine back in the 80's. I've experienced software changes over the years but nothing nearly as bad as this. Get it together, folks because these reviews are horrible & y'all may be losing more business!
The layout is refreshing but that's it..
Customers (that aren't on auto pay)that had credit cards stored in the old version did not merge over. Invoices get emailed in triplicate. Some invoices didn't even get emailed. The previous letters/invoices did not merge over. I'm scared to see what's going to happen with the accounting come the 1st of the month when rent is due!

I use WSS daily for my small business. There are some features that I would prefer to have that are available in other softwares. But for the money - you really can't beat it.
It covers all of the basic bases for running a small self-storage business.
It's tied into Uhaul - so you're at their mercy.

Loved the old program. Your decision to force the new program on us was not the right thing to do.
Not much. In every aspect it has made my job harder!
There are so many things. Mainly my numbers are not correct on my reports even now. We were changed over on 11/15/18. I and other managers have sat forever on chat, who knows nothing about the new program, and have called the Admin line multiple times only to be told that they will open a ticket and let me know when the problem is resolved. Never hear back from them. The webinar was no help at all! It is not eco friendly. Every report that needs to be printed is at least 3 pages and lord help you when you print a walk around report or cash drawer summery or management summary. We go through so much paper now. Pre-paid customers are still not correct, either. I could go on and on but I will stop here. This new program has kept me upset and stressed since the beginning.

Pricing is definitely a factor. Has all the features that is needed in the self storage business. Tenants receiving all information timely. Ease of use. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] is the best. She answers all my calls and is the most helpful. I have never called and been placed on hold. I reach her directly the first time always. When I don’t understand something in the program, she is very patient and walks me through. She may be the biggest reason for the fantastic reviews.
Some of the features are not as obvious. Once you know the system, they make sense. I am still learning but it is pretty easy.
