Use GoToMeeting for webinars

2018-10-14

We use either GoToMeeting or GoToWebinar for company meetings and webinars with our clients.

Pros

I like that there is an Outlook add-in that allows me to setup my meetings and add the GoToMeeting information very easily. The meetings can be recorded for anyone who misses the meeting so they can view it later.

Cons

Sometimes when joining a meeting it uses my computer audio instead of my phone which causes feedback. I select the option to use my phone so I'm not sure how that happens, it could be user error I suppose.

GoTo Meeting is a good solution for small groups and meetings.

2018-05-10

Pros

It is a good software solution to host small group meetings via an online platform, allowing you to meet with your internal team or external clients throughout the world easily.

Cons

We honestly just outgrew its capacity and moved on to GoToWebinar. The meetings we were starting to have were larger.

Better Options Available

The ability to hold conference calls with multiple people monthly using the same phone number and access code.

Pros

The software allows setting anytime meetings that can start in moments with no effort on your part after the initial set-up.

Cons

It's very similar to GoToWebinar and can be confusing when choosing between the two options.

Best Webinar Software I've Used

2018-10-03

As a state agency, we use GoToWebinar frequently to communicate important information and training to our state's counties (105) and numerous other organizations.

Pros

- Ease of use for organizers and participants - No problems with firewalls, internally or externally - All the essential functionalities that we use every time - Additional functionalities that we use occasionally - Recent updates are a plus - Good recording features

Cons

- I wish it was still a combined package with GoToMeeting - More expensive than we would like but overall worth the money.

Again, this product isn't the fanciest, but it has worked for us over the past several years so that's why I'd recommend it.

Pros

Easy and intuitive tool for meetings on the go

2019-03-07

If you are looking for a comprehensive engagement tool for training or meeting purposes, then you should go with GoToWebinars from the same provider.

Pros

One of the prime advantages of GoToMeeting is the easy setup for meeting. Especially when you are traveling, you need to be able to access a meeting tool within minutes. GoToMeeting allows you to setup a meeting from your mobile phone or have a permanent link available that your crew can use whenever you need them to collaborate. The functions within the interface do not need much of an introduction and is intuitive enough to support users that might be used to other tools or none.

Cons

GoToMeeting is focused on quick and easy meetings with few participants. I personally worked with up to 12 participants at the same time, even tough a larger set of licenses is possible. The major drawback is the fact that only 6 participants can have their camera on at the same time (2018 version). Similarly, the software gives you few options to influence other users such as permanently muting someone or encouraging file downloads.

I like it simple

2018-12-16

GotoMeeting is awesome. It just works and it works well. I have very little to gripe about and I have been using it for years. My one pet peeve and its a killer is the fact that I have to install it every time I want to connect to a meeting. This was not the case not too long ago but then there was that java thing...so baby steps.

Pros

Gotomeeting is a simple webconfereing tool however as an ID I wish it was budnled with GotoWebinar. I do however use it a lot for meeting so I like that its has free trials and allows recording of my meetings.

Cons

Outside of the meetings all the other features I want as a freelance ID is in another app in the line GotoWebinar. If I want the video conferencing and screen sharing features I have to install the app on the client machine everytime. a real pain when you are using a locked down machine.

Professional and reliable

2013-05-31

Quite easy to setup via several assisted steps. Guests receive a user-friendly link to access the webinar with a private code. The interface is a bit too complex but it allows full control on what you want to share and on the management of the online conference.

Pros

It's reliable and professional. From my experience with several webinars, probably 80% of the companies in the Tech industry were using GoToMeeting.

Cons

Not really clear the difference between GoToMeeting/GoToTraining/GoToWebinar . Most of users would set up meetings which are also training or webinar.

Pros

The software has a pretty clean and easy to understand interface. It also has a rock solid connection and I've never had any issues with stuttering or poor audio like I have with other webinar platforms.

Cons

Great Way to Connect Remotely

2018-12-04

Pros

Love that you can chat on the side of the meeting. Love that you can record the meeting. And as of the last few years, it's been really nice that you can even call in using your computer audio so you don't have to hold your phone and computer at the same time. You can just call in and speak using your earbuds (assuming you have decent ones). Also, another reviewer said it, but I'm an Outlook mega-user so it's really nice that GTM creates an Outlook invite for you once you schedule your meeting.

Cons

I think with GTM you have a limited number of call-ins before you have to upgrate to GoToWebinar. (It's like 20 or 25.)

GoToMeeting - Great for hosting webinars!

2019-02-05

Overall it's great! I host several webinars each year, and as a team we host 20+/year, and out of all the events that we do for recruiting, setting up and running our GoToMeeting webinar is the easiest.

Pros

I think the best thing about GoToWebinar is that it is incredibly easy to use.

Cons

There isn't much that I don't like about this software. The only thing that comes to mind is that there is no way to edit webinar recordings. This isn't major unless there is a component of the webinar recording that you want to remove - like if the record button accidentally is pressed 5 minutes too early and there is 5 minutes of dead air time in the recording. This happened to me and I had to send the raw file to a team member who happened to have some video editing skillsets and was able to do that. I do wish there was the funtionality for basic video editing of the recording.

Good for Meetings / Webinars, Still a Few Issues

2018-08-12

Pros

We also like to host webinars through GoToWebinar where you can control participant audio and share presentations plus I love the Hubspot integration it offers.

Cons

The chat isn't great and I've found GoToMeeting changes its interface based on browser or operating system capabilities which can make it confusing when using it on a new computer or trying to explain to someone on a different OS, what exactly they need to do to change settings, etc.

GoToMeeting has serious limitations

2018-09-13

Overall, I don't really trust that the service will perform as promised due to previous experience. I regularly dial directly to avoid the technical challenges during customer calls.

Pros

This service allows toll free numbers, local numbers, and international numbers. There are screen sharing abilities.

Cons

This platform limits the number of participants, so if you need to have a large conference call, you need to purchase a license for GoToWebinar which does not allow recorded calls.

Cannot capture phone numbers from prospects who download recordings

2016-12-21

One benefit of webinars is doing phone follow-up to attendees. However, GTW does not require a phone number in order to get the recording, so those prospects cannot be called. You only get phone numbers from those who register. If you want to use webinar recordings on a website or in a promotional piece, you will not like that you cannot require prospects to provide a phone number before gaining access to the recording.

Pros

Recurring meeting feature in the GoToMeeting suite is why I still use GoToWebinar.

Cons

Cannot really use the recordings for marketing, since it does not require a phone number to gain access. I have a staff member research them, which is not very cost effective.

Excellent for webinars with multiple organizers

2018-05-29

It's really good and easy to use, specially if you are familiar with GoToMeeting software.

Pros

It's excellent to divide training among several instructors. As a participant you get to participate and even ask your questions without interrupting the training.

Cons

It has a limited amount of participants per Webinar, 25 total, which forces you to create multiple sessions to allow everybody to be in the training. Q&A seems from the participants perspective confusing since you never get to see that other participants are asking questions.

We tested GoToWebinar and found it has a few benefits that GoToMeeting doesn't have.

2017-10-04

Pros

GoToWebinar has some benefits that appeal to us when conducting online webinars. For example, GoToWebinar has the ability to mute all participants so someone can't accidentally chime in during a webinar presentation. GoToWebinar also has the ability to play videos and also push that sound out to participants. GoToWebinar also has a reservation option whereby people can register ahead of webinar time.

Cons

The cost is more than double that of GoToMeeting. However, the additional cost might be worth it for the additional options.

An upgraded version of GoToMeeting with some great additions

2018-07-12

This is almost the same as GoToMeeting, which is a great webinar hosting service.

Pros

This has all the offerings of GoToMeeting, but it allows up to 2000 attendees on one call.

Cons

This is a much more expensive option than GoToMeeting, and if you don't need the added perks (more people on one call, hosted recordings, polls and surveys) then it is probably not worth the increase in cost.

GoToMeeting is a simple web meeting tool

2018-05-11

Pros

I've been involved in several meetings using GoToMeeting and they have gone smoothly.

Cons

There are a lot of issues that we have had around security, computer permissions and getting a meeting going when the admin is unable to login on their computer. I'm sure these are user error issues, but the training isn't clear on how to troubleshoot and customer service has been lackluster.

Rising and convenient Webinar platform!

2019-04-14

GoToWebinar is good as GoToMeeting, we are testing out and like it.

Pros

We are testing out new software to work on podcasts and audience. This is indeed a convenient platform to host a webinar/podcast and schedule future webinars. The features are also great, allowing us to share files, presentations and communicate while on the platform. So far we did not have any streaming issues when hosting a webinar and having multiple participants. automatic reminders can be sent to participants. I love it.

So far no issues. We are in the testing period and so far we have been having a good experience.

Syncs well with GoToMeeting

2019-01-14

It was easy to spread the webinar through GoToMeeting, which the rest of the company uses.

Pros

I like the ability that you can integrate this with GoToMeeting. I like the visual layout of the calendar and the ease of taking notes along with the webinars.

Cons

I did not like the levels of verification people had to go through for an internal webinar. Would have been fine for client facing webinar.

We used GoToWebinar for customer webinars

2018-05-30

Pros

I loved how easy it was for customers to access. Often times, we would see our customers struggle with using technology to engage with us; however, this wasn't the case with this product.

Cons

I don't really have many complaints about GoToMeeting. At first I struggled with the level of interaction customers could have but that subsided as I learned more about how to use the product.

GoToWebinar is the best group presentation tool I've used

2016-11-08

We had originally used GoToMeeting and found that if you truly want a presenter to audience setup, you have to go with GoToWebinar.

Pros

Presentation tools that allow you to easily give a professional webinar. Mute, hand raise, chat, Q&A, panel options, and recording all make this the best presentation software around. They also have a dry run feature which allows you to work out any kinks before going live to an audience.

Cons

The price was a bit high, but you get what you pay for. I was also disappointed I couldn't pay one subscription for the Citrix/GoTo suite. (at least that's what I was told by customer service)

GoToWebinar - Middle of the Road

2019-04-13

Pros

Like its counterpart, GoToMeeting, I feel this software lingers around the middle of functionality.

Cons

I would much prefer to record my webinar with a screen recording software and upload it than use this and try to send links out hoping people will join. Technically it works, but now in the ideal way I would like. Won't be using this again.

Gotowebinar

2018-08-07

Pros

It's similar to GoToMeeting, however it prevents the audience members from communicating with each other during our presentations and requires attendees to raise their hand using a button in order to be heard.

Cons

There's nothing in particular that I dislike about GoToWebinar.

Outdated System; Still Surviving

2018-12-01

Using all its capabilities will probably lead to upgrading of subscription or purchasing another product that's very similar but not quite from the parent company GoToMeeting.

Pros

Offered great video quality and sound to our webinars. Offers pre-recorded webinars. Easy to set up a session and go live.

Cons

Upper level subscription required for pre-recorded webinars (running automatically). Recording would be 10x better if it were automatic. I was burned a couple times. Some videos had audio scrambled after converting. Unable to repair the full video. Lost multiple recordings to this. Our customers were constantly confused by "join links" -- BUT this could have always been user error.

Go With The Pros

2018-09-06

Everything went VERY well and we will use GoToMeeting for all future webinar endeavors.

Pros

We used this for our Company's first ever webinar. It was easy to understand and use. We looked as if we had been doing webinars for years!

Cons

We knew we would need technical support--in the unlikely event that anything went wrong during the webinar. It was unclear as to how to get to the support team. Once reached, there was a possibility that they did not have anyone available for support during the time that we needed. Fortunately, they found someone and she was wonderful! I feel like that process could have been a little clearer in the beginning.

Great option for streaming presentations

2018-05-08

Pros

The organization I work for has recently started selling out for certain events due to the size of our conference room so we decided streaming the presentation for people so they could still be apart of it. So far we have had no issues- everyone can hear well and the process seems to be very easy for anyone to figure out. Once we register someone we put in their email and send them the webinar info and they can join the webinar. I like that they are able to interact even when they aren't there, they can ask questions through chat and do different polls. You can have many different users join and I think they love the fact that can all interact.

Cons

If you are only needing to conference call with a few people I would stick with gotomeeting. It could use a little re design as well.

All experiences have been positive, from an organiser standpoint, but also as an attendee.

Pros

If you like GoToMeeting then you'll almost certainly like GoToWebinar as well.

Cons

There's very little not to like to be perfectly honest.

Great for webinars as a participant or presenter

2018-12-05

I have used GoToWebinar both as a webinar participant and as a presenter, and it's a great interface from either direction. As a participant, the sign in experience is easy and it's easy to tell how to do things like answer a poll question, chat, mute and unmet yourself, etc. As a presenter, it's easy to understand how to share your screen, see who's in the webinar, ask questions, and do everything you need to. I do recommend making sure you do a test run before your first live presentation, just to give yourself a chance to walk through things, and I've seen glitches when transferring between different presenters who are at remote locations from each other, so practicing transitions is a good plan.

Pros

Easy to use for both presenters/hosts and participants. Chat & polling ability allows for interactivity without cross talk. Easy to screenshare.

Cons

You might not seem as "cool" using GoToWebinar as if you use Zoom, but these are fairly minor points because mostly people just want something that works, and GoToMeeting does.

In a past customer service training job, I conducted daily webinars with GoToWebinar for big groups.

2018-06-21

Pros

GoToWebinar was useful for conducting training webinars for large groups because of the ability to easily invite participants prior to the event, with the option to remind invitees of the event from an internal feature of the program. Following the webinar it was valuable to be able to access the roster of those who attended, along with their contact information. This was aided me in providing incentives to attendees and to follow up on the event. While conducting the webinar, the features within GoToWebinar allowed me to track who had their GoToWebinar window at the forefront of their screen (who was perhaps fully paying attention!), monitor and answer questions that came in through the question window, administer survey questions, and provide participants with downloads of PDF and Word documents.

Cons

As opposed to GoToMeeting, I did not like that (although it was easy to invite participants) each attendee had to register for the webinar rather than simply click on a link to access it.
