PlantOS overview

What is PlantOS?

PlantOS by Infinite Uptime is an industrial artificial intelligence orchestration platform built to improve maintenance performance, optimize energy efficiency, and manage production outcomes across both greenfield and brownfield manufacturing facilities. It specializes in helping manufacturers move toward a more prescriptive maintenance approach while improving industrial energy performance, reducing waste, lowering operating costs, and increasing overall efficiency. The platform combines advanced sensing technology, Industrial IoT connectivity, collaborative artificial intelligence algorithms, and on-demand human expertise to deliver actionable intelligence for complex industrial operations. It is widely applicable across sectors such as steel, cement, metals and mining, pulp and paper, chemicals and fertilizer, tire manufacturing, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical and personal care. PlantOS is designed to meet the operational goals of maintenance managers, energy managers, chief operating officers, and chief financial officers who are focused on increasing equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and maximizing return on investment.

The sensing infrastructure within PlantOS reflects Infinite Uptime’s focus on rugged industrial environments and smart factory requirements. The VEDGE three XT URPM model uses wired microelectromechanical systems technology and supports a contact temperature range from minus twenty degrees Celsius to eighty-five degrees Celsius, while monitoring equipment operating between twenty and five thousand revolutions per minute. The VSENSE series uses piezoelectric sensors across multiple configurations, including one unit rated from minus forty degrees Celsius to one hundred and twenty degrees Celsius, with speeds up to three thousand nine hundred revolutions per minute. Another variant extends tolerance from minus forty degrees Celsius to one hundred and thirty degrees Celsius while capturing speeds as low as two revolutions per minute. A three-axis model combines vibration, temperature, and rotational sensing in a compact module for speeds up to twelve thousand revolutions per minute at temperatures between minus twenty degrees Celsius and one hundred and twenty degrees Celsius. These connected devices form an essential part of a modern Industrial IoT sensor network for continuous equipment monitoring.

Infinite Uptime also offers wireless MEMS sensors with battery life exceeding two years, suitable for contact temperatures from minus twenty degrees Celsius to eighty degrees Celsius and speeds ranging between one hundred and three thousand six hundred revolutions per minute. An explosion-certified wireless sensor is available for hazardous operating zones, offering extended battery life and temperature resilience. The process edge intelligence unit captures critical parameters such as temperature, pressure, energy consumption, and operational signals, and is available in dedicated versions for programmable logic controller integration, distributed control system consolidation, and local operator interface visualization. This edge layer strengthens PlantOS as an Industrial IoT platform capable of connecting assets across multiple production lines.

At the core of the platform is the PlantOS Outcome Assistant, Infinite Uptime’s collaborative artificial intelligence layer trained on tens of thousands of measurement points across multiple industrial sectors. This system processes data from distributed sensors to forecast equipment anomalies, recommend maintenance actions, and notify energy managers when performance indicators deviate from expected levels. It works alongside continuous remote monitoring by industrial specialists and on-demand domain expertise delivered through Infinite Uptime’s centralized centre of excellence. By combining data science, predictive analytics, and engineering expertise, PlantOS converts raw sensor data into practical directives that help prevent unplanned downtime
