What is Arrow?
Arrow is a simulation tool used to calculate pressure drop and flow distribution in gas piping and ducting systems. The software simulates individual components and their interaction, including the effects of heat transfer, real gases, and choked flow. It integrates equipment characteristics, analysis, and output with the system's schematic representation, allowing users to compare the performance of new designs and ensure all design requirements are met.
Users can change system input data, model and analyze rotating piping systems, and vary the system lineup by opening and closing pipes and valves, turning compressors or fans on or off, and setting control valves to fail positions. The software supports the simulation of ideal or real gases, conducting flow analysis with high velocities, including sonic choking. It also allows users to choose between isothermal, adiabatic, or generalized heat transfer conditions, and assemble non-reacting mixtures to analyze dynamic mixing resulting from intersecting flow streams.
