Git overview

What is Git?

Git is a source code management tool designed to help businesses manage software development projects and store codes in centralized repositories. The solution enables managers to track changes in the code and collaborate with other team members. Git lets stakeholders view, search and compare the changes across the codebase. It allows users to manage the project’s branches and integrate with other tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, and Bitbucket. Github makes it very easy to store all your repos with access controls and lots of shiny features and workflows that you can build into your process.

Git is awesome as a Version Control software, but without a place to store your software versioning, it doesn't really make sense to use it.

Having it uploaded on the cloud makes it really easy to work between differ machines etc.

Version control should be efficient since it is an important part of daily development. The VS Code integration makes it very efficient and easy to use.
