Pros

I like the ability to easily communicate with staff and clients about their legal issues. The automation is very good and allows tasks to be done in half the time without automation.
I have made a couple suggestions to improve the software and both changes have been made. Their customer support is outstanding.
Our firm uses this for EVERYTHING. I am very pleased with MyCase and will continue to recommend it to other firms.

Pros

Technical support is fabulous, both through packaged online help and, on the very few occasions when it has been necessary, direct contact with a technical support representative.
Overall, my experience with Rocket Matter has been very successful in navigating through the website and it is pretty self explanatory which helps when training new employees comes up.
I also love the layout, being able to customize, the drop-down feature helps keep me organized and the page clean.

Cons

The function to submit a question does not result in any feedback at all. The program is now getting glitchy and the newest update is just terrible looking and terrible functionally.
So, I always try to take the "oops, MyCase is no longer available" as a sign that I should stop working.
I am worried that quality will decline after the recent buyout.

Cons

It freezes all the time. This is disruptive to my workday.
It defaults to the current date which is slightly annoying when you are entering time for a prior date.
Constant problems with slow service. Accounting feature does not integrate well with QUICKBOOKS.

Best Practice Management Software on the Market!

Overall, this is the best legal practice management software you can buy. I have tried Clio, Amicus, and Rocket Matter. This software is by far the best. It has features that I love, outstanding customer service, and is somewhat reasonably priced. I use it daily and my firm could not function without this product. I love the integration with Docketwise, even though I wish it were all one program, and I love the time tracking and client management options. Also, it is user friendly and mostly customizable, which is great for a firm like mine that handles multiple practice areas. I always recommend MyCase!

Pros

Better than Clio, Amicus, and Rocket Matter! You cannot find a more versatile product. The ease of use and all the different features and functionalities. I am able to do everything I need on almost every case with one program. It saves me time and money in every case. MyCase has outstanding customer support as well. They listen to feedback and implement changes based on what client's want and need!

Cons

Would like to see several improvements. I love the time tracking feature and being able to set up case rates, but I wish I could set up multiple case rate profiles for quick and easy selection. For instance an appointed rate, retained rate, and modifiable case rate would be amazing. It would be great to enter bulk time entries for multiple dates on a single client in addition to the current options....

It works pretty well but not everything I need.

Pros

Keeping everything in one place - name, matter, other contacts, billing, everything

Cons

It can be clunky. The MyCase desktop is confusing because even though I have an icon that I can pin to my taskbar or start menu, when I click on it nothing happens. The only use for it seems to be that I can open a doc from online, edit it, and it will sync. Doesn't appear that I can work offline, which would be VERY HELPFUL. When I email client and copy MyCase, it saves icons and pics on the email signature as docs for the case.

I had been working in a previous firm that involved me trialing a number of different practice management applications and when it came time to choose a product for my new firm I didn't think twice before selecting MyCase. I find all of the functionality to be very useful and professional - including signatures, billing, on-boarding forms and of course the client portal. All of these practice management applications are similar in nature and I guess depends upon the user, but MyCase in my opinion is superior to Clio, Practice Panther, Rocket Matter etc. in terms of functionality, aesthetics, client experience and importantly - cost.

Pros

I think the layout is extremely professional when compared with other similar applications such as Practice Panther or Clio. I find the user interface to be intuitive and rate the security features.

Cons

I really cannot see any faults, it is definitely the best option available for most lawyers without going into expensive customised applications for large firms.

Pros

Especially with the continuance of remote work after Covid restrictions have eased, MyCase provides an easy to access platform within our office and with our clients.

Cons

Matter verbiage and attorney assignments entered during set up do not carry over to invoices and have to be manually entered or edited.

Very positive. It has helped out team integrate better case tracking and give clients a clear picture of the work performed. We have also kept better billable hours by logging times directly into MyCase and associating the time with the completed task.

Pros

The case tracking events and timeline is extremely helpful to see the progression, time tables, and work put into a single matter.

Cons

Generating reports can be difficult to complete. The user interface can be difficult to locate at times.

Simplifies everything regarding billing, calendar, and running a practice

I no longer use a paper calendar. I never thought I would convert my calendar to digital, but this has been so easy and now I can't imagine any other way. I love the user-friendly characteristics of MyCase. I love that invoices can be easily sent to clients and automatic reminders scheduled.

Pros

Easy to use, even at the beginning; understands billing issues in the legal field; great communication options with clients; love the automatic reminders for sent invoices that remain unpaid; love the calendar feature.

Cons

I wish all past due invoices' balances were forwarded to the next invoice on the same matter automatically, so I would not have to remember to do that.

Timekeeping and invoicing.

Pros

Can't say just one - 2 things I love - First the timekeeping - which is invaluable. Been practicing law for more than 25 years so I have tried many methods. This is the best yet. Also, I like that I can open a case for each matter and create invoices for each matter. This helps when you have one client that has multiple matters and wants each billed individually.

Cons

Don't like the word processing tool. I work outside of that in OneNote. Wish it was more like SharePoint within the program. I use the product mostly for time and invoices . Wish it was the whole package.

Outstanding. My working day is spent using MyCase all day long.

Pros

MyCase is easy to use for the most part. For the basics in case management, it is intuitive. It is easy to learn additional functions. If you are not sure about a function or that it even exists, getting technical support is easy and usually immediately responsive and helpful. Making comments on a calendared event is an excellent and useful function. The ability to make personalized notes on an invoice is very helpful. When creating an invoice, crediting funds held in escrow is easy. Tracking possible clients in leads and making preliminary notes is a great feature that is complimented with the global search function. The ability to remind, me, my staff and event clients is terrific.

Cons

The mobile app could have more of the functions as the desk top version. Resetting a matter and tracking the history of events of a particular case could be improved. Verifying any type of payment for a client or matter is difficult to find. A function of invoicing could be improved in regard to selecting items to be billed and reserving others; example: if I want to invoice for expenses but not fees at a given time creating an invoice is difficult.

MyCase can be used anywhere either over the Internet or the mobile app. It will streamline your practice and makes billing a matter of seconds, not hours. The team is always improving and quickly implements many suggestions!

Amazing app. I don't know how a Law Firm can live without it.

The benefits of having MyCase are a lot. But the most important one I can say is that no matter what happened, we can always check on MyCase ANYTHING about ANY case we have - all the information will be there.

Pros

I love the whole app, everything is so helpful, but the three things I love more are the tasks, the notes, and the communications. All those three features are essential to running a Law firm and keeping track of the cases stages, progress, etc. I can't imagine how hard it would be for the firms, even the one I work at, to document everything the way we're able to do with MyCase.

Cons

I can't complain about something that I do not like, because I can't think about one, but what I believe that can be improved is: I) the calendar - sometimes we click on an appointment, and it shows to create a new one. It is super delicate and sometimes annoying even more when you're in a rush. The other thing is the documents field, where sometimes it is hard to open them immediately.

Great Case Management for Legal Services Providers

Great customer service, always fast and helpful. Love the client portal and the ease of case management. It works really well for me providing legal services to multiple law firms and is the best for my use case after reviewing and trying about every other case management system out there. I would recommend MyCase to others based on ease of use and customer service alone. But it has so many pluses it's a no brainer for me.

Pros

I like the unlimited storage and ease of client communication. MyCase allows me to keep everything in one place, making case management and organization a simple and effective.

Cons

The email integration doesn't allow enough granular control to make it effective for my use. I liked the old system of forwarding emails to my case and then matching them to the matter. Hoping MyCase evolves the email integration to add more control to how it can be used.

Less time is spent on billing and invoicing; what previously took almost a full day now only takes a few minutes to accomplish freeing up time for other work and projects.

Pros

MyCase is user-friendly, case/client information is easily accessed in one place and invoicing is much easier and less time-consuming than our previous case management program. The ability to link emails directly to a client's matter is a bonus plus the ability to have access through the App while out of the office is quite convenient.

Cons

It would be nice to be able to have deposit slips, void checks rather than having to delete them and have the ability to update notes/descriptions on checks.

MyCase covers all the bases

We use MyCase for every aspect of running our law firm except for electronic communications (we use an email app) and document storage (we use a Cloud-based app). It has been immensely helpful to the organization and efficiency of our firm to merge our client management, case management, time/expense tracking, billing and invoicing into one application.

Pros

The MyCase features I appreciate most are: time and expense tracking; case deadline calendaring (especially the Workflow feature), and billing/invoicing. I really like the timer, which I use to track how much time I spend working on a case/matter. I also like to e-signature function, which I use when I need a client to sign a document.

Cons

The thing I like lease about MyCase is that I have often have to click through multiple screens to get where I want to go. For example, if I want to find my time entries for a particular case/matter, I have to search for that case in the search bar, select the case from the drop down menu of search results, then click on the "time and billing" tab within that case, then click on the "time entries" tab.

It has been a great experience especially compared to other software I have used at other firms.

Pros

It is very easy to use and navigate. There are many different ways to complete certain tasks or get to certain screens which is nice.

Cons

It would be nice to link clients themselves to calendar events and not HAVE to use a case (such as what you can do with leads). The fallacy in only being able to link leads OR cases is if you have someone call in whose case is closed and they want a new appointment on a new matter. In that case, you cannot link their closed case.

A great solution to control your pipeline of Customers, cases and payments

It has greatly improve our case management, and collections. But still can be improved. More information on the financial side, more flexibility to design reports, etc.

Pros

We found extremely useful the feature of Digital signature. We have been able to use it for immigration forms and Retainers, for out of state clients, who can now sign no matter where they are. Also, generating monthly statements with payment and outstanding balances that our customers can see whenever they want, and send automatic payment reminders has been very helpful to improve collections.

Cons

I have submitted several times the suggestion of improving the financial information to include some sort of "monthly" cash flow for all the customers. This is not possible with the current reports.

I love MyCase. It is easy to learn to use and is easy to use. The support staff at MyCase is great. If I ever have to contact support, everyone is always attentive and helpful

Pros

I use MyCase daily to track a client's data, their matter and case documents. The software is easy to learn to use. There are many help topics one can use to get help with an issue. This software package was specifically chosen for the email integration offered which helps you track incoming and outgoing emails to clients. I would highly recommend MyCase to anyone.

Cons

One feature I would like to see is in the section where you enter a person's name. It would be very convenient to have two fields to enter names into. One for one spouse, another for the other.

Missing Some Key Features & Not the Most Convenient Set up

Comparing my experiences with MyCase, Practice Panther and Fresh Books: MyCase is easy to set up, is easy for clients to use and affordable (check to see if your state bar has a discount with them and ABA's is 20%). Very happy with MyCase. It's easy to forme to use as well as to receive payments from clients.

Pros

The monthly rate for this service is great for all of its uses. Payments are deposited in my account pretty quickly and love that the clients can send money using MyCase.

Cons

I'd like for there be a way to have different cases associated with the same client for purposes of billing. It's a bit inconvient to have to send a separate invoice for each different matter I work on for the same client. Also, AmEx isn't accepted which forces me to use another point of sale system to receive AmEx cards. Lastly, it would be great to allow clients to be able to book appointments through MyCase.

Great CRM for Legal Firms

Pros

We use MyCase mainly for case management & it is wonderful! We're able to bill all of our legal clients directly onto their related matter making it extremely easy to have them pay directly online with credit cards or even make offline payments & have them saved on the file! We save all of our notes on OneDrive & MyCase as per our compliance standards. MyCase makes it so easy to add notes and make sure all internal users are able to see and use the feature.

Cons

It can be quite expensive to have a lot of users added on the law firm side, but it does make up for it with unlimited client add-ons.

MyCase has made practicing law EFFICIENT. It allows me to handle administrative tasks with ease.

Pros

The access to the client portal is hands down the best feature. My clients love the ability to ask me questions through chat and pay their invoices online. The portal also allows for clear communication to make sure that attorney and client are always on the same page. I also love the Workflow feature. This allows me to keep track of the routine tasks in my cases to make sure that nothing is left behind.

Cons

I would like to see a few updates to the billing system in MyCase. I still have clients that choose not to use the portal. Since they do not have the ability to view all their invoices and payments, it would be nice to have one invoice that includes all time entries, expenses, and payments, instead of having to create a new invoice each time I need to bill for new time entry or expense. I would also like the ability to accept credit card/debit cards in office during the first consultation without having to create a case matter, a contact person, and an invoice.

Easy Billing and Time Tracking

I like it and it makes my life so much easier!

Pros

MyCase is easy to access and always accessible. It it easy to find the prompts in the system to enter new information and it is really easy to track down information on each of the cases like time billed, what the expenses are. I like that it is flexible in when you do something, it is easy to see how it connects to other data screens in the system.

Cons

There are three main things that I dislike: 1. I wish that when you start typing a party in the search box and they have several matters that cascade down for you to pick from, I wish you could hover over the different options and the entire case title would pop up. I often have to refer to a hard copy cheat sheet because I'm not always sure which matter I am selecting, so I am forced to have to reference...

Remote capabilities allow you to manage your work anytime and anywhere

This software allows secure access to files and enables teams located in different regions to work together. Files can be set up so that users are given access to only the files they need, so your entire system remains secure.

Pros

I have limited use with myCase but what I love most is that I can access my files from any device through the cloud. This streamlines my work process and eliminates the hassle of transferring files from device to device using a disk or USB stick. I also love the internal messaging feature, which replaces email. This makes it so easy to track communications on a file. This cloud based service also eliminates the problem of transferring large files through email, as you simply upload them into myCase and send an internal message. Users can choose to have email alerts sent to them each time they receive a message or a new file. So, no matter what communication method you prefer, you can always stay on top of your files!

Cons

At this time, I have no complaints based on my limited use of the software.

The misconceptions from the initial contact through the program becoming fully functional have been nothing less than a nightmare! Mycase does not allow you to upload or attach a firm logo to email signatures which may be fine for a sole practitioner but not conducive for a P.A. This program is not geared toward a defense firm. Firstly, none of our UTMBS codes were carried over from unbilled time...
