User friendly, it takes a little work to learn best practices and implement but extremely worth it!

Pros

Email automation! Has similar functionalities as Pardot with much less cost

Cons

I do not like that you must pay Top--Tier price to remove the Active Campaign Brand from emails.

Up and coming email marketing platform that needs to fix minor issues

It's a cheaper alternative to a product like pardot that we considered using. But, it just has minor issues that made it not worth it for us in the end.

Pros

It's very cheap for the services they offer. There is a great amount of customization and especially through the automation that is very extensive. Also, there are pre-made automations for you to use if you don't understand how to make your own, but either way the guides they have everything you need to know on how to make your own. Also, customer service is amazing. They truly went out of their way to make our transition to the product better and even did all the exporting of our email contacts from Emma to them easy to do.

Cons

Minor issues that can be annoying. The builder is wonky. Not like a lot of the other email marketing services we have worked with. Sometimes campaigns we start on go away. Also, very importantly is that emails sent don't come out looking well for those that use outlook! Very bad thing that needs to be fixed.

Choosing Active Campaign has been a great move for us to save some money but I would caution folks who are looking for hands-on account management and support or who are not technically proficient. We have a pretty technically sound team so we did all of the set up ourselves - given my experience with our account manager - I'd be worried if he was responsible for helping a less technical team set up their account/integrations etc.

Pros

We came to Active Campaign from Pardot and what we like MOST is the price difference. AC is much cheaper and has all the core functionality (and more) that you need to set up a pretty robust marketing automation and customer support system.

Cons

I gotta say the one detractor from giving them an all-around 5 star review has been the unresponsive nature of our contacts there. I have had a few billing questions and was trying to move to an annual contract and my dedicated account rep just flat out hasn't responded in weeks. I had to go back to the guy who originally sold us the software to get the invoice and forms I needed. I also tried to follow up with both of them to make sure we were good on the annual plan and haven't heard anything from either of them. So I have to say the customer support (from a billing/account management perspective) has been sub-optimal.

Customer service is great up to the point of sale. Beyond that the migration/activation process is clunky and they have too many players in the mix. We're testing it for a few months and might either switch back to MailChimp or try Pardot if possible.

Pros

We haven't tested it yet but we started the subscription for lead nurturing and automated email journeys

Cons

Not very easy-to-use interface. MailChimp is better

The Best Email Automation / CRM Software For The Price

Pros

The best part about ActiveCampaign is the value you receive with the price. ActiveCampaign although I love it, is no Hubspot, Marketo, Pardot, etc. but it's the next best thing if you're looking for a lean marketing CRM, sales pipeline, and marketing automation software with less than $1-50k a month budget. I recommend ActiveCampaign to all startup clients.

Cons

ActiveCampaign's software and UI could be cleaner and nicer like Hubspots. It's analytics are pretty non-existent but yet again for the price... AC is the best.
