Buffer vs Loomly Comparison

Loomly cannot schedule posts to Instagram unless you use Buffer, so for that reason I like Buffer.

Has disconnected to Instagram a couple of times.

Being able to link directly to my business's Instagram for ad creation with Loomly is the bee's knees!

I don't really have a con-it's easy to use, and it pairs well with the social media scheduler I use.

I use Buffer when I have a post scheduled for Facebook that has multiple photos. Since those can't post directly from my scheduler to Instagram, Buffer sends me a helpful email with the content and images I want to post (and even includes instructions). So I simply save those to my phone then upload from there. Before using Buffer, I'd have to set a separate reminder for the day-of to go in and post things to Instagram that I had scheduled to post automatically. This does that step for me.

I haven't explored all of its features, but it doesn't seem as robust of a scheduler as other platforms such as Loomly, which is why I'm using it only for multiple photos, not for all my scheduling.

I like that you can set up posts in advance and it will post to all of my social media accounts as scheduled! It's easy to understand, easy to set up and works well.

It's tough to work with in the long run. This is set up by social media account, so there are up to six different sections to look in to find your posts. If you want to update something, you have to do it multiple times for each social channel. And it's tough to visually see what I've scheduled by week/month as it's lined up vertically. The other thing I wish it had was a way to see how it will look once it is posted to various social media platforms as they have different looks.

We are going back to using Buffer. It worked much better for our team.

clunky interface it just didn't have the feel of Buffer.

Ease of posting across platforms. (Limited) capability to link into those platforms.

temperamental integration with Linked In. Lack of ability to post directly to Instagram. Lack of ability to auto adjust images to each platform's preferred size.

Fine tune the same posts for each social media, pulling analytics from Instagram and view all messages in one place.

Can't posts to Instagram directly from Loomly, buffer account for it.

I love the fact you can upload everything and schedual it for release ahead of time. It saves on so much time, espeically when you are someone who is on the go like myself and get so caught up in life that you forget about things such as social media plugging during critical times. This took makes it so much easier!

I do not really like having to go through an additional tool, buffer. Would be nice to just have to go through loomly only and not have to download the buffer app on my phone.

It gives great post ideas. The optimization tips that it provides makes one an expert. The scheduled posting makes it more interactive and easy.

Simple but feature-rich, and also aesthetically pleasing user interface. The app is handy for a busy entrepreneur on the move.

Only one desire would be to enable auto-publishing on Instagram without having a need to partner with Buffer.

I have used MULTIPLE social planning softwares including Hootsuite, eClincher, Sprout Social, PostPlanner, and others, and Loomly is cost effective, practical and easy to use! This has a great dashboard with an extremely handy social calendar for planning and viewing posts. The mobile app is brilliant and just as easy to use as the desktop. The ability to post to Instagram is awesome.

You either have to connect a Buffer account, or manually post to Instagram - Loomly sends you a reminder at the scheduled time.

Loomly stands up strong against competition and is great for collaborating with clients and employees!

A major con is that it needs Buffer. Another one is that it can't publish video or multiple photos in a post.

The software covers all the important social media channels.

The workarounds with Instagram publishing (using Buffer) were confusing to set up. I still appreciate you having an Instagram solution though!

I love the ease of scheduling my social media posts, the grid view for instagram is helpful designing a cohesive feed. With Buffer everything posts automatically.

I would love to see a wordpress plugin to push out blog posts.

The simple UI and platform previews are awesome, but the most useful part of the platform is the ability to create, schedule, and edit copy per social channel. I utilize one piece of content and schedule it (at all different times) for Facebook, Twitter & Instagram and then am able to tweak the copy for each platform individually before publishing. This is so key for making sure twitter copy is short enough and adding hashtags specifically to Instagram. Again, the platform previews are awesome to know what your post will look like on the various social channels.

Needs multiple Image upload ASAP. I actually have to utilize another social media management platform anytime I want to schedule a post with multiple images for Instagram. Other that that, nothing. Can't beat the cost for the convenience it provides. Integrates seamlessly with Buffer as well, but would be nice to not have to pay for Loomly & Buffer.

The response and helpfulness of the chat was surprising. Most of the time you don’t get a response but the people at loomly not only answer your questions but work with you to fix problems.

I LOVE that you can write the content once and then tailor each set of copy for each social media channel. For example, the exact same copy that works for Facebook doesn't always work for Instagram & Twitter. With Loomly, you can write it once and then go into each platform and customize your content to include hashtags, shorten links, etc. You can also upload custom photos for each platform. Other social media schedulers only allow for one set of copy across all the platforms you choose, making it cumbersome and time-consuming when you have multiple platforms to schedule.

I cannot stand the fact that you have to also have a Buffer account to enable auto-posting with Instagram. I really, really wish they'd figure out a way to allow auto-posting instead of getting push notifications on my phone without having to have a Buffer account. I don't want to have to pay for two social media schedulers. Loomly would be nearly perfect if not for that huge flaw.

The ease of use and dashboard are my favorite parts of the software. for the price you can't get a better software. I also like that you can send your clients to the portal to approve drafts where as on other softwares they don't offer that.

I wish there were better analytics on the basic plan. Also i wish there were more options for posting to instagram. Stories have to be posted manually and posts through buffer.

I love the visual calendar aspect of this product and how you can integrate it with Buffer to post to Instagram automatically. I also love that it keeps track of how many hashtags you have used and have left.

The only thing that I wish this program had was the ability to tag the location for Instagram.

I love that Loomly gives me helpful tips when posting Social Media. They suggest post ideas that are relevant to that specific day--which is extremely helpful when I'm starved for content. There post optimization tips also help me determine the best time, date, copy, and overall quality of the post.

I don't like that I had to make another account with Buffer in order to schedule Instagram posts. However, it wasn't that difficult to do...I just have to keep track of more than one account.

It is fairly simple to use and not so complicated compared to the alternatives out there. For the basic necessities of organically posting on social media and having a team do it in-sync, Loomly can support it.

The UI in some sense is a little too basic. The calendar view isn't the best.

I like that you can post in advance and and the ease of the calendar set up, so you can free the frequency and the types of social platforms you are using. Easier to plan your month ahead.

The posting to Instagram is a big one. I schedule posts and still have to wait for notifications to take another step and post it on my phone, or through buffer, which becomes a hassle.
