Great for getting your feet wet for managing social media, but overall I recommend Later.
If you have never used a scheduler before, then this is a good starter one. It is definitely great for small businesses and the free version is great for personal use.
After familiarizing myself with Hootsuite, I discovered the features are limited compared to other schedulers. Not being able to post more than one photo to Instagram or being able to post videos became really challenging. It also wouldn't post have the things I had scheduled. And for the price point, there's just better options out there.

I would definitely recommend this program to others to use for the businesses.
The program is very useful you can schedule your post that way people can watch them later very beneficiary.
The downfall the program is that you can only post a number of advertisement at a time that could be used.

The ability to schedule posts for a later time was very useful, multi channel view was useful for multitasking
Interface was a bit clunky at times, and the price is a bit high for small businesses, especially so for solo users

Allows you to schedule posts so that you don't have to remember to manually do the post at a later time.
The layout is very messy. I understand what the developers at Hootsuite were aiming for, but ultimately, I think there are better approaches to presenting relevant information to the users.

Main benefit is time savings! Can be creative and upload a bunch of posts to release at a later time
I like to preload a month of media posts for my company at a time and not have to worry about daily posts, or coming up with content regularly. I can post to mutliple platforms at once, and load to release on a daily weekly or month/y basis.
On occasion a preloaded post has been released that isn't situation sensitive. This is not hootsuite's fault at all, but unfortunate timing when natural disasters or other forms of world problems have occured

Eases posting time on social media platforms
I can schedule posts to a later date. The ability to integrate the 3 most important social media platforms of my choice.
To access the dashboard one has to pay yet some free analytic should be made available in the free version.

Overall Hootsuit has been good for scheduling posts on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts all at the same time. It's great for setting up multiple posts well in advance.
Easier to post to multiple social media accounts at once, Preview available of posts, Easy to schedule posts for a later date
I found it difficult to get images to the right size for all the different social media accounts linked.

I enjoyed my time using Hootsuite but I had to switch to Later because I needed more of a planning software
I like the user interface of Hootsuite and how easy it is to navigate between facebook and instagram

I liked how you can schedule posts for later on social media, and how you can view multiple social media pages' info at once.
I don't like how some features seem to be kind of hidden.

Easy to use, great to always know what's going on on your feeds and notice if anyone tried to reach to you. We use it mostly for Twitter and Facebook.
It's not Hootsuite's fault but managing Instagram is annoying : as for us, we can't set it up. Maybe later.

I've been using this for over 2 years and it makes social media posts a breeze.
So easy to make social media posts on multiple sites for my client. I can schedule for now or later and add images and links very easily.
Nothing really that I don't like. I suppose sometimes posts from Hootsuite may get blocked more than others, but they seem to come up on my feeds.

Lots of functionality and utility. Scheduling tool is industry-leading & is essentially the only scheduler with automatic posts to Instagram.
User interface is sub-optimal compared to alternatives like Later. This means there's a definite learning curve when implementing in your organization.

Great way to get the word out about events, celebrations, and the company.
Easy to learn the process of posting. Ease of downloading content. Very user friendly. Being able to save projects for later dates. Love the feature that suggests quotes for your postings.
Learning how to navigate the system without signing out and logging back in to see the schedule and saved projects. I may need more training in this area.

takes the labor out of posting social content on a regular schedule. i load up their interface, put in my content, and it shoots it out at a later time on multiple channels
the integration with instagram doesn't work properly. my understanding is that this is because of how instagram restricts access to their api so this might not be a problem with hootsuite

I've used it a few times but then decided to go with Buffer and Later as for me they were easier to navigate and you could do more before they start charging
We needed an app to post social media posts and Hootsuite came recommended. I downloaded the app but have only used it once or twice as it doesn't seem very intuitive
Its tricky to add account plus it only allows you to add 2 social networks before it starts charging you. I found an alternative which works much better for me.

Hootsuite allowed me to effectively manage our brand message across multiple platforms without having to manually manage and update each. Overall, this type of tool is essential for any company with a social media presence.
Hootsuite is a simple to use platform that can help you integrate your social media channels and ensure that you're conveying your brand message consistently. It's fairly easy to hand the keys to a new social media coordinator and let them use the tool.
When using Hootsuite, I did not have many complaints. Several years ago, I think the functionality was more limited, but this has been significantly improved with later updates.

Hootsuite makes my job a lot easier, especially since I social is just one facet of my role, it allows my to not only stay on top of posting and scheduling social, but keep up with the rest of my responsibilities as well.
Hootsuite makes it super simple to post across multiple social platforms—all from one beautiful user interface! Posting to Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest can be done in a matter of seconds and scheduled ahead for later dates.
We run all the copy for our social from a spreadsheet and sometimes when copy and pasting, Facebook will display highlighted question marks when there is a hard return. We've looked into this, but typically end up retyping the copy to avoid having to fix it later.

Like I said, Hootsuite is necessary for anyone who uses Twitter for work!
Sometimes you have a lot of tweets that you need to post, but you don’t want to do it all at once. This software makes it easy to schedule posts for later dates without having to worry about it.
I can’t say that there was anything in particular that I didn’t like about Hootsuite. For someone who uses Twitter for business, it’s a must have.

Being able to easily post and curate content via Hootsuite enhances my visibility in the business world.
It makes it very easy to schedule and send posts across a multitude of social media platforms. I use Hootlet all the time to curate content. It makes it very easy to save content to Pocket to curate for a later time.
Sometimes, messages fail to post and there doesn't seem to be a real good reason for it. I also don't like that you are unable to post to LinkedIn groups.

Hootsuite occasionally has free webinars to help build the platform. They also offer extra certifications at an additional cost if you're interested in learning more about paid advertising or things like that. Hootsuite is easy to use, has some great troubleshooting articles and FAQ but overall, it just hasn't been a good fit for our commercial real estate business.
I do like using Hootsuite to build up a calendar of posts to go out at a later date. We publish from multiple accounts for several different companies so it is helpful to have a space to (mostly) do it all in one place.
Linkedin is our primary social media platform and I feel that is the platform Hootsuite is most lacking.

A must-have tool in the world of social media! I use this tool for many client's to help streamline the process of social media marketing, gather key analytics and data, and execute online campaigns. Hootsuite has a clean interface and makes it easy to create secondary user accounts for sharing.
I love that Hootsuite pays attention to the changing Social Media climate, adding small details like a link shortener and the ability to save content for reuse at a later time. These seemingly small functionalities are timesavers and make a difference in the user experience!
Sometimes link previews don't load properly and causes an error in scheduling your posts. However, it's a minor issue and can be circumvented by making sure link previews load first before scheduling out.

Later is an amazing scheduler. I would recommend it to everyone.
Later was not my first choice. Hootsuite was but once i needed more functionality later was next in line.
I want Later to figure out how to come to terms with Instagram so that we can auto publish with our text intact with spacing. i think this is an instagram thing but it's still very irritating. whats the point of auto publish.

Free to use for 30 posts per month (2 accounts). Extremely easy to use, drag-and-drop interface with minimal learning curve.
Limited functionality with the free version. Still doesn't have automatic posting to Instagram, while Hootsuite does. Can't add emojis to scheduled posts on computer.

Multiple profile sharing, ease of use + I love that we can preview our Instagram feed all within the online (desktop) version. This free version allows the Instagram preview feed + more posts per month than Hootsuite
It wasn't as easy to figure out as some other social media planners that I've used. I had to google how to do things because I couldn't easily find the buttons or figure it out (and I feel I'm pretty "techy") :)

I'd recommend this. Instagram doesn't exactly make it easy to send traffic to your website, so I think a tool like Later is really helpful. Instagram isn't just about sharing pretty pictures. It needs to drive conversions. Later is great for this.
I really like Later. The insights are helpful, the tool is simple to use, and it really does help increase traffic that you send to your web pages from Instagram. It's a more sophisticated version of tools like Hootsuite.
One of the features doesn't work -- adding the location to a post that you're scheduling out. When the post goes live, the location isn't there. Honestly, that's the only problem I've had.

Very user-friendly and has great insights and tools. I prefer this over HootSuite and other competitors. I also have loved the option of posting automatically or manually and the app on a mobile device is easy to use.
I loved the suggested hashtag feature, saves so much time when posting to Instagram! It's also a very easy-to-use software for scheduling feed posts and stories.
The price for multiple accounts is what has moved me to Facebook Business Suite. With a real estate company, we have multiple agents with social media, and it's too much of a cost when there's a free option for multiple accounts.
